Option to save your builds
They have said they want to, but it they have nothing to discuss with us on this feature yet.
Having said that, I saw a quote from a dev saying how revamping Shatterer would be something they would like to do, but would be be complicated to implement…..a month before they then announced it had been revamped.
I strongly suspect it is something being worked on in the background slowly, but they will remain tight lipped about until they have found a way to successfully implement it.
Thanks for the response. I wonder how hard it can be to implement a simple code for skills. They do have item codes etc., so it’s not like it’s undoable. They did it in GW1, but then again everything there was simpler in structure…
To be honest, I found it so annoying I made a second toon, and keep them seperate, so i have my different necro builds with out having to flip flop and carry excess armors and weapons.

GW2’s situation is more complicated, since ‘build’ also includes choice of runes, weapons, and sigils. That said, ANet has said they were interested in this feature, too…as early as 3 years ago. I get why it’s not easy; what I don’t understand is why this hasn’t been on their priority list.
Because it’s more profitable to sell a character slot, than to add these sorts of changes....
Look, this is a very simple issue;
Both from Anet’s point of view and from the players’.
Here’s how it’s going to go down;
1) Anet creates ‘Armour Stands’, sold in the gem store at say, 700 gems per stand, that then appear in your home instance.
2) Players equip these ‘Armour Stands’ with the actual real armour, weapon, trinket and back pieces that they have in their inventory (It goes without saying that the pieces disappear from the inventory and are assigned to the armour stand), also selecting their specializations.
3) In all game modes, players may press a key to ‘summon’, ‘warp in’, ‘teleport’, ‘display’ (take your pick of a word) before them, all the armour stands that they have set up in their home instance. They player may then press ‘F’ over one of the summoned Armour Stands to equip that load-out.

Yes please make more things that should have been features in the core game only to be acquired through the Gem Store. sarcasm

Oh, please. That would go too far. It takes only seconds to switch to another set of armor or change weapons — like we did in GW1 where you did have the option to save skill builds.
Those are just excuses IMO. We don’t need runes and sigils to be saved into build templates. Seriously.
While I am no opposed to them adding a build save feature, just be thankful that its easier to swap around your Traits then it was originally. Not to mention we can now re-spec at anytime instead of running back to town or carrying those books around with us.
Preferably it would save the traits, armour and weapons + allowed you to write a description but I would be glad even if they simply put in a way to save traits.

Well … it only takes seconds if you have memorized your alternate build and know exactly where in your bags the other gear is and haven’t accidentally hit a button that rearranges your inventory. Not that I think a template swapper will allow re-runing, what you have in the gear is what you have installed.
Yet what about those who keep variations of gear sets depending on what stats/runes they want to use? I’m not one of them, my bags never have that much spare space. Still, it strikes me that having a toggle to swap out traits and armor to pre-made sets would be a seriously nice QoL feature.
If you just stop changing your build there’s nothing to save. No wonder games make you make permanent choices, yeesh!
