Option to toggle skirt for armor
That’s quite the passive-aggressive attitude in that second paragraph. Anyway, what skirts are you talking about? I can’t really think of any medium armor chest pieces that have skirts.
And, side note, you can dye outfits.
Rose, I think you have a different mental image as to what the OP means. Almost every medium coat has a “skirt.” Ie they are trench coats as people call them, though in fact few look like a classic trench coat.. They hide the leggings, they bell out, they usually have ragged edges. They tend to be thigh to calf length.
It’s certainly possible for medium tops to exist without the tails. Female Krytan, for instance, or the Scout’s Coat for humans which only has a little flaring or ruffling over the hips.
But they’d have to remake every medium chest to have a reasonable waist hem visible if one toggled off the visibility of the tails, not to mention the likely difficulty of coding in such a toggle. I doubt this will happen for current armor; we can only hope they come up with more simple tops.
That’s a kilt, not a skirt!
While I also doubt that we’ll ever see toggle-off for the tails on the many, many coats in medium armor, I will take the opportunity to ask for more medium armor that is not a long coat. GW had a very high percentage of short-tail or no-tail tops for 2 of the 3 medium classes (ranger, assassin). It wasn’t until Dervish, which was all skirts, that this changed.
Imo, GW2 would do well to look at some of their old armor art assets for inspiration. Long is not always better. In fact, if that’s most of what’s available, it’s downright boring.
The same thing goes for light armor, which has a huge array of long skirts, short skirts, skirts over pants, etc.
That’s quite the passive-aggressive attitude in that second paragraph.
Ehh, I rarely see suggestions implemented if they aren’t overwhelmingly popular.

Basically 90% of the medium armor for Charr, it’s all draped over the legs.
For the other races it’s toned down, but just completely overdone for Charr.

Indeed, but you have 4 channels to work with, and setting one color changes many different things. You can’t have, for example, a tan hat with black pants, both share the same color. They could alleviate it by just adding more color channels and making that picker panel larger to accommodate 12 color tabs or so.
Aaaahhh the butt cape. Ya, please, no more butt capes. They’re BAD. But I don’t for one moment expect ANet to give us a toggle on/off for those. No harm in asking I suppose, but.. no way it’s gonna happen.
I’d appreciate either options to toggle butt-capes off for all armor sets or just to have them implement new armor sets that do not have them. Sometimes less is more in regards to aesthetics. I know this probably sets off alarms to the anti-bikiniplate camp, but they need more variety in aesthetics. I’d love to have options for my light armor characters that were not full length ball gowns down to the soles of their feet or pants with a skirt on top.

or a full skirt rather than a full a half/quarter? Pants would be nice. Pants without extraneous holes …
For example, I love the marauder pants. They do wonders for my asuras spindly legs. The only chest piece that doesn’t hide them is the glorious one, which isn’t easy to get. (especially as a mainly pve player) We absolutely need more variety for medium armor chest pieces.
