While this may be a helpful guide for new players, experienced players do not need this and it adds to the clutter.

The worst part of this compass comes in that it never goes away. I am playing my 100% Map Completion character and it’s always there saying “Complete Nearby Events”.

Yeah I get it, complete nearby events, complete nearby events, complete nearby events, etc.

Just give us an option to disable it please.

Game Menu > Options

First page, under User Interface it says Content Guide and there’s a drop down menu with ‘default’ showing.

Set it to off.

Luckily it was added with the update. I shut the darn thing off almost immediately myself. I have 2 maps and can tell where my character is on said maps. Don’t need a compass holding my hand.

You can turn the content guide off in the user interface options. It’s not that obvious in the options, but I hope the screenshot makes it obvious where to find it.

You can also set it to ignore your personal story or ignore the story and events so it can be used for map completion too.

I haven’t tried this yet but I imagine it will come in handy when you’re trying to get that one last POI.

It’s a cool little feature when you’re chasing down the final elusive unexplored area on a map, but otherwise it’s a bother.

Clearly implemented to further dumb down the game.

This is actually one part of the patch I think is a good idea.

I can’t count how many times I’ve seen posts on this forum from new players asking what they should be doing to level up, or where to go once they’ve done all the hearts in their immediate area. Even one memorable one where someone complained about being “waylaid by events” while they were trying to quest (do hearts) and then complained in the same post that they weren’t levelling fast enough.

I think this will help a lot with people who are confused by the lack of quest hubs and other aspects of the conventional levelling process.

And if you don’t want it you can turn it off. Without that option I’d agree it’s annoying, but with it I don’t see a problem.
