I’m kinda confused. I thought once you picked an order it was permanent. I choose Shadows and my fiance choose Vigil. I did a mission with him and it said I could progress so I thought it was ok, but turns out now I’m Vigil as well now and not in the Shadows. Is there a way to change it back? Does this mean if we found someone of a different order and did their story with them we could change to their order? Up until the other day we had to go back and forth to each others story so we could complete our stories and now we can get credit if we’re in the same one…I just don’t understand. (Shadows=Whispers. lol)

Depending on where you are in the story line, there are a couple of quests where you can pick specific plans put forward by the different orders, but at that point you are not officially linked to any of them. A short bit later, you have to choose your official order to continue with.

If that’s not where you are, then I’m baffled :X Orders can’t be changed once you select one.

They really don’t mean much once you finish your personal story, I have seen no continuation with them once capped either. If going for the skins you can make an alt to unlock the vendor for purchase across all characters in your wardrobe.

The PS from lvl 30 to 40 you do some missions from all 3 Orders, but the last one actually decide which one you’ll be, so before that you can pick to help the Order of Whispers (“Shadow”) but in the end you accepted the Vigil mission along with your fiance.

I’ve read other threads in these forums saying that yes, if you progress in someone else’s Order line you can get swapped though you still can only buy the armor from the one where you started. I’m not sure how to set it back.

There are several icons on your login screen for orders chosen, a legendary, world completion, etc. When you pick an order, your login screen will have the icon filled in for that order. Is it filled in now or is it still empty?

This. As Bel said, you progress in your PS and you will have the opportunity to select missions for the different orders. At some point, though, you will be specifically prompted to join an order and it will be very clear that you are joining…not just doing a mission for one. As far as I know, once you pass that point…and actually join, there is no changing it.

Thanks for the responses thus far. And yes, it did change me. I’m past the helping all the orders, I had made my final decision to join the Whispers. (I don’t know why I keep calling them Shadows. =p ). I was on my way to the first mission and he was supposed to do his, but when I went into his next story it swapped me to Vigil. That’s why I’m baffled cause apparently it is possible to switch and prior to choosing I read everywhere and choose carefully cause it was supposed to be PERMANENT. I guess it’s not really important, I just wanted to know how that happened and if I could change it back since it got changed once.

Hmmm…interesting. Have not seen anything like that before. You can, though, do a quick check if you are interested. Go the Chantry of Secrets (Whispers HQ) (Bloodtide Coast) and see if it will let you into the inner area where they sell the armor. If you are not Whispers, it will not let you in. Worth a check anyway. Good luck.

If you choose to accept another storyline, the game will set you on that storyline’s path (so that you can continue doing episodes with your party member) until you finish that particular arc. Once at the end of the arc, if you choose not to accept the new storyline path, you will be set upon your original storyline path, again.

You never really change Orders, just the storyline path. You can verify this by speaking to your Order’s vendors.

if you want only the skin of three orders,you can. just make 3 characters in diferent orders.then buy the skin.it will unlock permanently to all of your characters.
