Orichalcum nodes: New rules? New DR?
Perhaps. I know they watch the economy very closely. It wouldn’t surprise me that they are constantly adjusting drops rates and spawns.
Entitlement lol? Far too old mate & probably far more entitled than you can imagine <G>. I enter into evidence Exhibit A yer honour: George Lucas & what he did to SW.
Riddle me this grasshopper: what is GW2, or any mmo, without its players to actually play the game, to make the world come alive, never mind the dollars & cents…?
HERE endeth the lesson of the slippery slope & the players who don’t speak up until no one is listening any longer & of the game creators who do not listen until there is no one left speaking & all they hear is empty space ;-p.
I am actually wondering if some of the Orichalcum and Ancient Wood node spawn changes are part of an anti-botting enforcement attempt? I say this because having observed several bots as of recent many were a series of alts belonging to a one person guild. So changing how they spawn for alts makes sense. To my ausement. some nodes have been spawning in normally unreachable locations on the map lately. Many botters have some form of teleport system between nodes going and I have seen “dead player characters” surrounding some of these now unreachable nodes on occassion as if they were lured into a trap…
Could it be?
There is now a LOT of gold floating around, and one of the reasons for that is the readily available Orichalcum, which has dropped in value due to people farming it every day.
Unless people somehow found a way to sell Orichalcum to the NPCs for a huge amount, the amount of Ori farmed has no relation to the amount of gold in the economy.

Someones had a bad trading day I guess.
All I can add is …. you need to take a step back from the viewscreen, close youe eyes, take a deep breath and open eyes again… hopefully you will spot the obvious rubbish in your posts.
Of course its all about money.. show me an MMO that isnt, in fact show me any product put out for general use/consumption etc etc… you think ANET are here to provide your a charitable game at their expense… wake up and smell the daisies.
If the game is fun for you and you are not bothered about drop rates etc then why are you here whining about market manipulations and corporate espionage within game… you sound like a kid whthrowing toys out the pram cos mam said no sweets.
Simple fact for ya.. no one forces you to spend any coin in game, that decision comes all the way back to you so you have a choice go earn it or go P2W it – Each to their own but please, no babble talk about “Its all about the money, ANET are evil cos.. and players have some kind of ownership and control”
You bought a game that in return granted some slots in a database and the ability to utilise their servers and play their game nothing more, the rest of the stuff is purely carrots dangling in front of you.. you choose whether to feast on them or push them aside… THAT SIR IS THE SIMPLE TRUTH !
*The two 5hour nodes south of Cursed Shore no longer appear on 5 hour rotations. Additionally, some players are seeing other nodes appear on 5 hour rotations instead (north, and in the sea for example), where as other players are just not seeing them at all.
The nodes that are on 5 hour respawn can change, not only to anywhere on the map, but also in number. I have had times when only 1 respawned within the 5 hour cycle, while other times I’ve had 3 respawn. Now I believe it only changes on new builds but I could be wrong.
*After farming nodes across multiple characters, some players report that no more ori nodes spawn for subsequent characters on their account.
I tested with 5 of my characters on Yaks Bend and all 5 were able to access the nodes.
I’ve sen those spawn in various locations on karkadoom island.
Oh, and whats up with that veteran DE karka – patrol the beach for karka one. That guy has an aggro equivalent to 1/5th of the map.

There’s a limit to the number of Passiflora I can gather in a day. Roughly 15 or so nodes, but it is Per Character, not account.
I wouldn’t doubt the same system applies to all nodes.

Not doubting you, but I am curious how you came to this conclusion. Were you gathering Passiflora, and then suddenly around the 15th one all the remaining Passiflora nodes on your minimap vanished right in front of your eyes? Or are you just having a hard time finding more than 15 nodes to begin with?

I am curious as to how he’s getting 15, I have been hitting the nodes alot quite recently and have never seen 1 passiflower, not 1 since southsun cove opened. I am beginning to wonder if they are as rare as final rest.
i would be 100% OK to make those nodes on random timer.
to me “farming” in a themepark doesnt make sense, plus it would deter bots.
really… farming…?
sad…

I already explained my play style which I thought made it clear I wasn’t a wholesale node farmer or TP speculator, not even close. At the risk of sounding clichéd, it’s the principle of the matter. I really thought ANet were different & wouldn’t ruin it for the many because of the sins of the few. Some of us don’t worship at the altar of Capitalism, in or out of games, but do like consistency & reliability in what they pay for. I couldn’t care less about the illusionary game economy or balance or what bot farmers are doing & I don’t PvP – doesn’t impact me one iota. Changes to fundamental game mechanics, rules & content with no warning do.
(My post has also been deleted & I have been given an ‘infraction’ because some little !@#$% here thought they’d nitpick me for a dictionary word I used an alternate spelling for…or the more obvious content censorship in the guise of moderation lol. Glad I struck a nerve if so. But apparently I’m the childish one here.)

passionflowers are just insane rare, i farm the nodes daily with 5 characters, and i get 1 every other day
With the introduction of Guesting we now have access to three times as many gathering nodes. They had to make some changes to keep the market from crashing even more than it already has.
To bad these changes only hurt the players. Playing an mmo being in a war between devs and gold botters like its bin since 15th of november starting to really nerves up most of us.
