I think the mobs around Orr have too much CC. Tar Ele’s have a short immobilise which isn’t too bad. Risen putrifiers however have quite a long immobilise in comparison add to that the map population of putrifiers creates a problem. The risen gorillas around Jofast have a 50% snare which lasts for 1 min and stacks in duration which is annoying when trying to run the karma circuit. i think 1 min snare is slighty overkill imho.

Now i could run around Orr on my warrior using balanced stance,SiO an dolyak sig and place my traits in mobile strike’s which would give me a counter….but why should i have to? i’m not in a dungeon, just running around open world content from event to event. I’d like to take skills that are fun to use, not required to get from A to B.

Also the event that moves south from Meddlers WP spawns way too many mobs of the same type Risen Nobles i think there called, that have an fast casting ranged AoE ability. These aren’t a problem by themselves or in 2-3’s but when 8+ come running towards you, as soon as they reach maximum range they drop their AoE in the target which leads to a powerful stacked AoE that wipes the NPC’s your were protecting, this also happens at the temple of Balthazar as you escort the troops and keep their morale from falling. Mobs spawn. AoE stack on the soldiers.Event failed.

This isn’t a moan, just my 2 cents….if i wanted to moan i’d have written about the state of melee viability….warrior with a bow and arrow of all things! :P

Orr mobs have their CCs reduced recently, so it’s not that bad. I agree that risen nobles/pirates need to be toned down, though. They hit for 4-5k, have flame auras and constantly spam shadowstep. Their new mechanics are not fun or challenging, just frustrating and unnecessary.

It’s not supposed to be a cakewalk, even though it is. Just bring something that doesn’t do damage (you know, a defensive skill) and use it smartly.

And then complaining about warrior melee viability. 0/10

Its almost like “Shake it Off” or even the traited “Balanced Stance” are hard to come by….

Oh wait, no they aren’t and this post was brought to you by a warrior.

I really miss the old Orr…. Why did ANet have to nerf it? Orr is supposed to be a tough place. Weak players should not go there if they can’t handle it. Bring the old Orr back I say! It was fun.

Emi, mate i didn’t complain about warrior melee, lets not take things out of context
I also think i covered all the counters i currently use.

My point is i shouldn’t have to trait and skill into these to run to events around Orr. I can deal with the occasional immobilise/knockdown but i want to enjoy my skill slots in the open world, not run manditory slots just to get to the next event.

they didn’t so much nerf as fix a mob spawn bug that resulted in there being way more risen running around than intended.

Now at least you can stop and take in the scenery when you have slayed a couple.

And if you want a challenge aggro some nobles, purifiers and/or some of the other variants that recently got more instantly activated pulsing AOE. Always fun poking around some area and have a noble or two drop on your back. And those circles aren’t small either.

Not sure if ANet wanted to make group fights harder or just punish anyone standing still for more than a second with these changes.

Some people will just never be happy unless everything remotely challenging is dumbed down to barely a nuisance.
Anet already made the game much easier than it was when it launched and it’s fault of people like you who think games shouldn’t be challenging.

Well, challenge and games always go together.
Even Pong, Pacman, Tetris and Akranoid are challenging at high levels, if you don’t want any challenge don’t play at the higher levels.

Wasn’t really thinking of a nerf, Red, I’m sure it wouldn’t ruin the map for gaming gods like yourself if the AI’s skill priority was adjusted to not fire off a cc as the opening move or maybe space out putrifiers to lessen chain cc.

Please, lets not turn this into flaming. i’m an average player sure, i like a challenge too and if you don’t agree fine. But try being constructive instead of condescending, maybe there’s something i’ve overlooked or a mechanic i don’t know about.

Shockingly you dont have too, it just makes things so much easier.

I mean bad players will always complain about CC, good players will bring CC removal and kill the mobs.

Then you kill far too slow. How are you even getting event credit ?

lol, someone complaining that Orr is still too hard, even after the nerfs. Used to be one of the most challenging zones in the game, now it’s easier than half the other zones. Proof positive that you can’t make everyone happy….ever.

people miss the point that cursed shore is designed to be group content. it’s the one map that is almost all group related stuff. all the other maps are for people going solo. please leave Cursed Shore alone.

It’s nothing personal, and I’m sure there are perhaps some people who would agree with you. But if people disagree with an opinion, they disagree. Better to speak up than remain silent if it’s something you have strong feelings about.

Would you rather we lie and sugar your bad perspective on a fine zone ?
Or just tell you to suck it up and get better.

I don’t know that i’ve ever heard anyone in cursed shore complaining about this issue. Well not since they changed the mob density and re spawn rates while lowering the CC across the board. I mean seriously this is a user issue at this point.
