“I’m finding companies should sell access to forums,
it seems many like them better than the games they comment on.” -Horrorscope.7632
With (relatively correct) accusations that ANet isn’t engaged in the forums, I have to wonder where other people are leaving their feedback, especially if they feel they’re being heard.
Anyone got thoughts or links on where productive discussion is happening?
On the forum.
They will rarely reply, and almost never to say they are actually going to use a suggestion, but things suggested on the forum do end up in-game.
Some examples include changing daily achievements (they used to be the same every day and award nothing but points, which had no purpose), making the living story permanent and repeatable, the wallet, the wardrobe system and making dyes account bound.
The problem is that it takes a relatively long time to make changes, especially if it requires designing new content. So even if they like a suggestion you won’t see it in-game for at least a few months, and by then many people have forgotten where the idea originated.
They also can’t and won’t use every single idea. It’d be impossible and honestly it’d make a terrible game. But that means people tend to end up focusing on the idea they liked that didn’t get used, instead of the ones that did.
I agree with this assessement. Many of the suggestions made in the game, from making the living story all permanent content (and repeatable) to giving us a choice of dailies every day, to improving the AI of certain types of creatures.
Anet listens. They just don’t comment.
