While exploring a bit of the wiki, I decided to check on the sylvari page and came across some outdated information, especially below the ‘Trivia’. It states that the original glow of Trahearne is orange and of Scarlet is red. This is not correct.

I have done my research. I’ve exchanged tickets, discussed it on forums and with other players. By looking at several playthroughs I can confirm that the original and correct glow of Scarlet Briar is of a YELLOW type of colour.

And regarding Trahearne’s glow. Well, ever since Living World Season 2, the sylvari have suffered some kind of ‘glitch’. Every single sylvari NPC reveal only colour when it comes to their glow: orange. We all know that Caithe’s glow is white, but she glows orange nonetheless in-game. By playing all sorts of sylvari Personal Story it has come to my attention that the correct and original glow of the characters are revealed during the cinematics. Wiki states that all NPCs would glow white during these cinematics and I’ve seen one glowing purple. So, yes. The cinematics do reveal the correct colour, meaning that Trahearne’s glow is indeed white.

I just find it amazing to believe that not many people have noticed that EVERY SINGLE sylvari has an orange glow. All of them, no exceptions.

I’ve done the fixings by myself, but someone keeps replacing them. I’m not expert in english, but if you wish to support me on this, please visit the page: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sylvari

UPDATED: After spending up to two hours watching old playthroughs, it appears that every single NPC glows white during the cinematics. I am unable to know if they do glow different colours while in-game. I guess I was wrong. My apologies for all the incovenient issues I might have caused. For all I know the orange glow glitch might have been in-game since launch, being Caithe the only NPC who showed a different glow. I don’t know anything anymore.

I can’t comment on the glow thing because I’ve just never paid attention to it. If someone keeps changing your edit, just keep changing it back and try to provide proof of your side.

Scarlet Briar is the only Sylvari I can think of who ever took a second name, and her given name was just one name. There are plenty of Sylvari with titles (ie. the Nightmare Court leaders), and named by their professions. But no, surnames are not common for Sylvari.

Start paying attention from now on, especially during the Personal Story.

Eh, I don’t really have any intention of getting involved in the glow info on the wiki. I’ll take your word for it, though; I have no reason to doubt what you say.

A couple of things:

Pictures mean more than words and claims of truth. Please upload the images that you have to the wiki showing Scarlet’s colours and it can get sorted quickly. Thanks!

What Greener said.

This doesn’t seem like it’s subject to argument (like most things can be) — a screenshot should settle the issue of whether at least the glow is different from described on the wiki.

In any case, the wiki is independent of the developers — ANet pays to host it and does the technical support; the content and presentation is entirely the decision of the wiki community, i.e. work it out with them.

It’s not entirely independent of the devs. They will often post new sweeping change updates etc. I know Hugh has gone through hoops to make the PvP pages / Map pages as accurate as possible.

Shameless plug time
In line with the title of this discussion, there are many outdated or missing pages on our French, German, and Spanish wikis.

If you have even a passing interest in helping out your fellow players, please consider taking a look at those wikis and adding in missing pages or information. Most of the English wiki pages have links found in the lower left corner which can take you to another language’s page. If you have a basic grasp of the other languages, simply translating from the English page would help out a bunch
