I calmly waited over 30 minutes before trying to say something in chat while killing Veteran Oakhearts in Queensdale for the plant slayer achievement and I usually announce when the Champion Oak is up, was able to do so twice and the third attempt gets suppressed. I’m not sure how much time elapses between spawns, but, it is ridiculous that I am being suppressed for this and am seeing the ONLY WAY to clear this is to re-log into the game. Please ANET for all that you deem sacred about this game fix this. Thank you.

Agreed! Chat suppression was present in gw1 as well, but it wasn’t as severe as this and really suppressing mail? Why? I haven’t encountered the mail one too often except when i tried to get my tips achievement and it was a bit ridiculous to say the least.
I had this happen to me earlier tonight, got suppressed for seemingly no good reason (wasn’t spamming any messages), and then more than an hour afterwards I was still suppressed. after about 90mins I could get messages out.
Possibly a tad overzealous, don’t you think dev’s?

WAY OVER an hour now and still getting the suppression message, but, only when saying “Champion Oak is up” anything else is ok as long as I don’t say it more than twice. I’m bewildered, aren’t we supposed to be able to communicate to others things that are happening in the game.

Funny thing is on TC in Lion’s Arch this past week there has been a guy talking about being a drug addicted pedo spamming chat for hours on end and he is not being suppressed.
The funniest part is he is constantly reported because mapchat looks just like this;

He literally has six hour long conversations with himself and presses enter after typing two to three words.

I have run into this before in the exact same situation when saying “Oak up” and linking the WP. If I say something different each time like, “Oak champ up” or “champ oak up” it usually goes through. I think there is an extra spam filter for using the same text repeatedly as I experienced that problem after just saying it about 5-6 time using same text.
The chat suppression and mail suppression both are complete trash. Especially when you are sending mail to someone on your friends list who also has you on their friend list. There shouldn’t BE a suppression of any kind in that case.
I think it is a bit too strict the way it’s set up. You can avoid getting blocked by modifying the message each time: add a waypoint or some other meaningl useful text or just change it around.
I’ve never been blocked but then I don’t stay in one place. I run around from place to place so when I put out any calls, they’re about different things.
