Hmm i like to roam around in LA in my own server, but i only get in the overflow. So i log out very fast cause its boring. Wish you could put the dungeon in some other town ( so that ppl come there too ) cause i enjoyed the chit chat in LA, but now.. thats gone too.
I have the exact opposite problem. I find myself hoping more people will log onto my home server so I can look for groups in my specific difficulty level of Fractals of the Mist. It’s ridiculously complicated and would be made a lot easier by giving us a decent LFG tool.
What is trolling about this? I just like wandering in Lions Arch talking to people from my own server, but i dont want to wait 10-30 minutes to get in there. Maybe your server doesnt have people walking there, but in mine i enjoy that.
Also i do believe they could have put the dungeon in another town, and i dont understand why you people dont agree with me. Its not a rage complaint about this, i just think its annoying.. thats all.
And no im not in a hurry, just go online talk to friends, show off my Sunrise. Whats wrong about that.
OK I stand corrected, your not trolling your an kittener wanting to show off your legendary to the masses and when there are no masses you are upset. My suggestion to you therefore is to go to one of the other amazing cities and have players throw flowers at you because Lions Arch is now so much of a hub as to make you have to wait 5-10 minutes for your “fix”.

Sometimes I wonder if some players stay awake at night trying to think up even more complains to throw at ANet. If your actually serious and not just trolling (I think the Latter myself) then just wait for 5 minutes till your offered to move to your home server, I’m sure if you like to just hang around and listen to the chit chat then your not in a huge hurry.

The queue is quick – yes, there are thousands of people moving through Lion’s Arch at any given time, but queues form quickly and people go to the dungeon or they are just passing through via Asura portal to another zone.

the thing i hate about overflow you stuck a lot of longer in the loading screen, i assume it tries to get you inside of the actual server then it descides no its too full then it loads for a overflow server which is not full, so it takes FOREVER till youre finally on the dmn map!
i would be glad if it would direct me direclty onto an overflow just make it FASTER!

I can understand this being the case at the launch of the game where there’s bound to be bugs, but i do not have a wimpy computer nor do i have a wimpy router or a bad connection to the net and it STILL takes forever to load in LA. If the mystic forge wasn’t there I would never log there (as I am not a dungeoneer style player so fractals mean nothing to me.)
Maybe they’ll release a version of LA without FotM that way it can be like the rest of the world and have barely anyone there?
Your sarcasm aside, having 100 people piled by a dungeon portal in one small area of LA is hardly a bustling city… it’s just annoying having additional loading screens – I agree with the OP.

Load screen time is determined by your hard drive, you can get practically instant load screens with a SSD.
Is your HD getting full or have you defragged it lately?

I really liked the idea of a version of GW2 without the gear grind and fragmented community better. The only detriment would be maintaining two code bases. But, the classic servers could be viewed as an experiment in modern design theory where they would be free to implement their vision. They would also be able to make the standard servers as grindy and unfriendly as they want without hearing all the complaints from the player community who bought the game based on their vision.
Bugging me also op. the standard response is to join a guild! Yet you get out into an overflow that includes various servers. Fotm should have been In a different zone.
I dont search for ppl in overflow servers, the majority speaks french or german there.. and if you get ppl there they only talk in foreign language even if you ask nicely to speak english. So i just sit and wait.
