Overflows are a problem again
The only two zones I ever see overflows for are Frostgorge and Queensdale. Since you can do guild missions in overflows I don’t really see it is as a big problem.

Guess it depends on your server. On TC for most events, if you aren’t in the zone ahead of time you are going to hit Overflow, common on Maw, SB, Teq, Shatterer more than others.
I’ve been seeing a lot more overflows in EB, for every single world boss event. We had an overflow for Wurm, Golem, Fire Elemental, Maw, pretty much every world boss. I have a feeling it’s because people want those rare mats for the ascended stuff.
PvE Main – Zar Poisonclaw – Daredevil
WvW Main – Ghost Mistcaller – Herald
groups can be together again, if you are in an overflow, rightclick a group member’s icon and choose join in <map name>
we have to do things others may qualify as “evil”.

I don’t know that there is much they can do about it this time seeing as how guesting isn’t the source of the problem this time. Now the large world events are desireable to do so people are showing up in large amounts.
To fix the problem last time they made the 24 hour chests. Are they gonna go with 48 hour chests or once a week chests?
The problem is the crafting mats in the chest everyone needs and the high volume times everyone want to play. They tied Dragonite ore to Event Boss Chests and Empyreal Fragments to Splendid Chests and jumping puzzles. So the boss event starts in Frostgorge and players go for the ore not the chest. But keep in mind that now pretty much 24/7 you have a huge group of players zerging champs. Which is fine but those players probably count to how many can be in the area especially since they usually do the troll very near Claw.
The best solution would be to do a 10 minute window for the Event like the Scarlet Invasions. Give us an in game timer to plan our gameplay so we could decide what events we want to do. We click a tab and can look at the event schedule for the next 4-6 hours and see Claw is in 20 minutes. So in 20 minutes we have 10 minutes to get to Frostgorge or an overflow to do the event. That’s fair for everyone.

I know that’s what they will be doing with the new Tequatl, spawning the event in overflows for the first 10 minutes just like the clockwork events. Not sure about other world bosses.

Yup, unfortunately they have to do it manually right now as they haven’t figured out how to automate it yet. So this means it will likely only be a short term thing to handle the initial influx of people wanting to see the revamped content.
Hopefully they can come up with a permanent fix.
solution to all overflow issue: remove guesting. NSP is having huge issues with the temple zerg which we do every day at server reset, all the guesters are coming in and taking the spots of the native NSPers. We cannot even join sm1 who is already in main map and then “join” them, we get the error message that the map is full. remove guesting, it’s not needed.
Every non-Orr map with a chest dropping boss event gets an overflow during peak hours, on Blackgate at least. This includes Sparkfly Fen, Wayfarer Foothills, Queensdale, Frostgorge, etc.
Have yet to see it occur on Orr maps.
smack..Wut?…smack…smack…
Another solution:
Synchronize the event. If an event happens on a regular server – it should happen on the overflow as well.

This 100% – Overflow, even in Malchor’s and Cursed Shore, has been a huge problem on SoR during prime time hours (aka when a lot of people have time to play…) since the Ascended patch. SoR is a BIG server, so obviously there are a lot of people logged in wanting to do these events so we can’t blame guesting for the issue. However, GUESTING DOES NOT HELP the situation – it only amplifies the problem.
I’ve called for removing rewards from the large events for guests…but that probably isn’t fair. Perhaps guesting should be DISABLED for high population servers during primetime? Something along those lines is needed to help alleviate the issue.
