It’s an issue I’ve noticed with heritage and now the new Twisted shoulders.

It’s just way out of proportion, drives me crazy.

Yeah, it’s completely kittened. I honestly don’t know wtf was going through their heads when they made it so out of proportion to every other armor piece.

Ridiculous.

No word can describe their appearance more appropriately than “ridiculous” does.

Also, it is not just these shoulders and the HoM shoulders, many shoulders have been up-scaled since the July update and all fit the term “ridiculous” perfectly.

Most armor looks horrible on Male Sylvari. It’s probably the last race/gender combo I’d ever recommend someone take.

It isn’t much better for females either : / I was hoping to get the shoulder skin for my guardian, but when I previewed them it turns out they look terribly wonky.

Male Sylvari are cursed.

Majority of the armor doesn’t fit correctly. The HoM heavy leg armor is awesome though and most heavy chest pieces. I hide shoulders on my Sylvari Guardian, although they’re nowhere as bad as on your character, they aren’t as oversized on skinnier builds.

99% of Medium armor doesn’t fit. My Thief cries himself to sleep every night. AC Body, Guild Armor and CM armor are like.. the only ones at 80 that fit decently.

It’s like we have an invisible frame over our bodies that is larger than we are and armor bases itself on that instead of what you see.

Yeah, okay, but those shoulders are seriously… I can’t even…

I have just killed myself laughing at the thought of a thief trying to be all stealthy in those things. “Annnd…. I just knocked over that entire shelving unit. Discreet!”

Would you like to see the gloves on a small stature sylvari? The hands dont scale, what is this lazy bulls***? Now I look like I have a pinhead.

Seriously, these gloves look like those toy Incredible Hulk hands that are huge…and are also green.

I noticed this too when playing around with a makeover kit, but it’s actually not unique to male sylvari.
You just tend to not see it on female sylvari because it only happens when you pick one of the huskier physiques (which isn’t usually done on female characters), your shoulderpads get upscaled along with your character’s shoulders.

I use the first option for body type and it looks relatively normal to me. Might still be a bit bigger than on humans but at least it doesn’t look as weirdly stretched as in the OP’s picture.

Male sylvari shoulders are WAY too big. They have the exact frame as humans pretty much, why do they need shoulder pads that are 1.5x larger?

I hope someone is aware on the side of anet about this, I really like the shoulders as they ade the first plant themed armor update we have gotten, but these shoulders are borked.

Yeah. It looks ridiculous to say the least.

I just don’t understand why they didn’t make them about half the size.

I did a preview on them last night with my fem Sylvari and oh my god are they silly looking. From tip to tip they’re about as wide as she is tall.

Just wondering if A-net has decided to look at this at all? SHOULDERS!!!!! when we would just like shoulders.

I wish they’d stop using the weird scaling by body type/height thing that they do because it’s completely broke on sylvari and depressing on asura and charr. And I have three asura..

An option to scale the shoulder size to your liking, simple solution. Personally I’d be angry if they changed the size of my Sylvari’s shoulders, I think they’re fine the way they are.

Thief, Male, Sylvari.

Shoulders are always oversized… Its ridicoulos in Medium ones…
But compare the starter hood on Sylvary and Human male.
Yours looks 100000x better. =(
