Own house...
I’m not a big fan of player housing simply because I don’t care to see resources dedicated to it at this time when there is so much more that needs to be done. While some may like player housing I don’t see the point. So you get your little house, decorate it, basically play a dumbed down version of The Sims, then what?
> Whisper to someone on friends list
“Hey buddy, come check out my house.”
“I’m a bit busy working on my legendary, maybe later”
“No really come check it out.”
“Sigh, okay”
> Friend walks in and looks around
“Cool story bro. I have to go now.”
> Player with the house stands around looking at his beds and pictures or whatever, then what?
If it were a separate team working on it or there were not such a need for other things like new dungeons, new permanent zones, new PvP maps and so forth, then go for it. Until then I wouldn’t like to see it a priority because IMO housing has very limited use and even less long term value.

Well to be fair the housing system of Wildstar looked pretty beast.
We already have a home instance, might as wel make it more interesting than it is now.

Well, what’s the long term value of it though? You decorate it, make it look whatever, and then what? Are you going to stand around in your house looking at your pictures?

lol 3-5 months of grinding for footstep effects

In Wildstar, using the resources of the housing, you can create Jumping Puzzles and Mazes in your home instance and invite friends to try to beat it, and far from be a small one.
House system is as cool as your imagination limit it to be.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

Lol, really? I’m sorry I didn’t notice that. : (

At least with a legendary or any other weapon and armor for that matter it is with you everywhere you go. A house you have to stand around in to appreciate. I’m sorry but I don’t see much long term value in that and at this point I’d rather not see resources dedicated to such a thing. Maybe later, much later once more parts of the game have been improved. Then maybe they will give your your house to stand around in for 5 minutes before you get bored.
It’s on Anet’s todo list but probably not soon, it was suppose to be in the game at launch but for some reason it didn’t happen, hopefully some day.
put the correct term in but not everyone has kittens
Are you going to stand around in your house looking at your pictures?
So basically what people already do in capital cities? :P

Houses are one of my favorite things in a lot of games, it’d be really cool if they were to add it. possibly they could have things that can be upgraded, e.g. 1-2 extra bank slots, or a customizable fighting arena (maybe even dueling, i hear people want that) etc. etc.

Some would say “worth it”.
Some would say “forget that”.
I say “whatever, next asura in line please, and adjust the catapult five degrees left”.

I know right. Only asura seem to have the intellect to use a catapult. Unlike some races who don’t even know what the word ‘degree’ means.

yea its called “new building skill and player owned houses” please take a look and tell me what you think/ your suggestions
Guild HALL is what this game needs, an area for guilds to make houses, statues, etc that gives bonus things or crafting stations, guild personal mistic forge, and such, this would be usefull alot.
other player non guild player can still visit the X guild hall if is opened to public and such….., is not hard to make it just a map+objects+ssql coding, loved it in eden eternal.
but gw2 is lacking stuff that all other decent MMOs have.

i agree with you on the first thing you said, but not with the second, housing would be pretty awesome, and i know about 2000 guild members that would have A TON OF FUN AT A GW2 HOUSE PARTEEHHHH! BOOYAAAAAA!
NOT ment to say 2000, meant to say 200…..

200 players crammed in a small house would just be a big blob that no one could make sense of. Perhaps a guild hall would be more suitable for what you describe. Also, how long before those house parties became old and boring? You can only dance, spam emotes, and stand around in a confined space for so long before it gets old. I just don’t see such a thing having lasting quality. Even though a dumbed down version of The Sims is nothing I’m interested in I’m not against the idea for those that want it. I just think it belongs way, way, way, way down the list of things to do.

Two years of waiting and still nothing. A lot of empty nice house inside the home area at least inside divinty reach. A place the rest from fights and recover. A place the store armour and weapons, all your pet and more. Well well long missing promise made but still nothing along this way in the game. . .

Yeah, it’d be just awful if they diverted resources away from “New Items in the Cash Shop!” The dip in quality this game would suffer if such a thing were to happen…

By that logic I’m guessing you’ve never used a Transmutation Stone or a dye to change your character’s opinion. Right?

If you read my first post again I mention dedicating resources to things that have nothing to do with the cash shop. You decided not to include that in your quotes for some reason. Let me quote it for you to make it easier.
If it were a separate team working on it or there were not such a need for other things like new dungeons, new permanent zones, new PvP maps and so forth, then go for it.
The funny thing is, some threads I have read in support of player housing specifically mention adding cash shop items available for housing. Not this thread, but many of them have suggested such things.

Changes in character appearance go with you everywhere you go. A house is a static place. A place where you can stand around and look at pictures you placed on your wall. How exciting.

Just make guild halls and guild vs guild…everyone is happy.
P.S. – since we’re all homeless, can we ask for help from LA?
Being a huge Sims 1 fan that still plays even today (though Sims 4 is looking pretty sweet), I could really get into housing system. It would definitely have a positive effect on the RP community as well, myself included.
I’m not in a huge rush to see this implemented, but I’ll be happy to see it if/when it does make its way to the game.
I love housing, guild halls, and farms. I love customization and depth in an MMO and GW2 needs both imo (not everyone will agree.. duh).
The problem with Guild Halls tends to be the separation of the community. Or at least that’s what’s most commonly sited as reason not to include it. However, in GW1 I don’t remember seeing LA or Spamadan lacking a population. That probably has something to do with GW1 lacking a trading post though.
So to keep these cities from going the way of the dinosaur how making the guild halls as parts of each city. Maybe make the “home instances” under the control of whatever guild you are representing and allow players from that guild the ability to purchase homes located in the instance.
Maybe for really large guilds have an option to buy (new zone) your guild’s zone. So it has houses and guild halls and special guild only missions in it. This way guild can turn the instance into a PvP zone or PvE zone.
I dont care about player housing. Its useless feature where you waste your money on building something and latter you ask yourself “what was the point”.I had it in AION,i though its fun…untill i finished it and never got back there again.I dont mind for those Rpers to have it or whoever likes it ofc cause im not selfish but what would i like is Guild Housing like on original GW.
