Guild Wars 2

Not sure why there isn’t an option for this after like 3 years since this game has been out…..Why are we forced to watch cutscenes in story mode? I want to get the achievements done quick and get them over with!!!

i gave up on trying to get the achievements because of how long it kept taking to just even re-try after i failed
i already messed it up, why make me go through the torture of having to wait to mess up again

They have said that because the new cutscenes happen in real time skipping them is like fast forwarding them in the server and so has a huge potential for bugs.

I thought it was annoying in core game, season 2 was more frustrating, now the real time. It’s going to be very spying if your like me and want to do story more then once…..makes me not want to honestly

Most cutscenes can be skipped. Most in-game dialogue can’t be (because it’s not a cinematic — it’s happening in real time).

Generally speaking, players have said they prefer in-game dialogue (cutscenes take us out of the moment) and that’s why more of the dialogue in LS2 is in-game compared to the PS, which has a lot of cutscenes. Similarly, Dungeons have a lot of cutscenes and the most recently-added fractals have in-game dialogue.

There’s no easy way to balance the competing needs: in-game dialogue is a lot nicer when playing through for the story and skippable cutscenes are better for repeating content, when you just want to get to the boss or the achievement.

Option for skipping cut scenes is just that. An option. Sounds like it’s not gonna happen because of how they function on the servers, but would be nice for repeat content. I think the biggest quality of life , time saving measure to introduce at this point would be build templates anyways, not scattered cutscenes
