I have invested time and money into getting to tier 3, only to find I need 250 of these pesky stupid mushrooms.

They just don’t drop. I have more chance of getting precursors rain from the mystic forge!

To rub salt in the wound it would have probably would have been more beneficial to sell all of the materials used to get to tier 3 and buy the precursor.

So now I am sitting on a half finished collected that has lost me a fair bit of money just because I need 250 very rare chance of a drop of mushroom.

Please tell me the drop rate isn’t meant to be this rare?

(In my experience) they aren’t rare at all. I have hundreds of the things from mushrooms all over Tyria. The drop rate seems very high for these. I’d recommend going to anywhere that has lots of caves and Orr where there is an abundance of truffles and omnoms

This seems to be an individual problem (that I also have). My wife gets them all the time, and I have never gotten 1, ever. We harvest the same nodes, using the same harvesting tools, and I have 0 to date, yet she has over 100. I know everyone will say it’s just RNG, but after a while, it looks less like RNG and more like broken.

There was a point when it was broken for one of the two collections that require them.

That is some stupid bad RNG. So, basically, this particular “non-RNG” way to get a legendary isn’t working out that way for some people at all. Looks like some people aren’t ever going to get this legendary.

If people are genuinely getting none, I would suspect some sort of bug that needs raising

as far as i know there are people getting those every mushroom they harvest in every part of tyria (like me) and people who never find one (like my boyfriend).

You might want to unlock the Minstrel collection as well. That also requires indigo mushrooms.

I used to never get any. Then the drop rate suddenly increased a lot, after I gathered every different fungus node in the word, found on its wiki page .

Now I have too many. I’m always near a stack of 250, turning the surplus into milk.

They don’t seem rare at all to me. I get 3-5 every third or fourth whack of a shroom (or some truffles, too).

I’ve never even heard of indigo mushrooms before this thread. Is this something that needs to be unlocked? I’d check myself but…work phone.

This. Just unlock Minstrel I. Don’t worry about completing it. I’m drowning in Indigo Mushrooms. I even completed Minstrel I in hopes they’d stop dropping…nope I have several stacks of them now. o.o

I get the most Indigo mushrooms from Sawgill mushrooms in the HoT zones. You might want to try hunting those down. I’ve also gotten them from Snow/Orrian truffles. Make sure you’re harvesting mushrooms to get the Indigo mushrooms. The higher level mushrooms have the best chance of getting them. You don’t get them from any other type of node.
