Can you please re-introduce the terrace scroll again? I consistently get harrassed outside the terrace, even inside, from players wondering how to get in. I get them whispering me, some of them with less than suitable language, mind you. I even had one follow me half way across DR until I answered him about how to get in the Terrace.

This is getting a bit ridiculous.

If you legitimately have people harassing you, there is a report feature for that, which would probably be the best solution to the issue. People that get foul just because of something like this are likely a toxic element of the community anyway.

This is true, but I have reported them, blocked them… everything I could think of, even setting my Status mode to “Offline” just to avoid getting whispered. The thing is… I don’t really feel I should have to stealth my online status to dodge this. Okay, getting one or two people asking a week is… that’s fine. But, seems like I am getting 5 or 6 asking me a DAY and I have even pinged the Terrace scroll, told them it wasn’t available right now to buy but that I was sure it will be released in the future. And the discussion kinda went like this:

Player:
“How the **** did you get in there?!”

Me:
Terrace scroll pinged. “You need one of these, hon. You can only get them on the TP but they aren’t available right now. The game puts them up every few months or so.”

Player:
Yeah, but how the **** do you get inside?!

Me:
“Um… I just told you.”

Player:
“You’re an *******”

Forgive me, but… this has been going on for over a month now, since the first time the game went on sale for 75% off. Needless to say, I’m tired of this…

LOL, I absolutely agree. When the Terrace was first introduced I had wondered, well, for those who do have the scroll, if we log out IN the Terrace, why can’t be just log right back into it when we start up the game or character next time?

By all mean, Mr. terrace guard, please kick those who don’t have the scroll, but for those who do, please leave us alone?

Personally I hope they don’t bring it back if there are tons of players that like to harass people wanting in. I’d rather not have them in there. That makes sense to me.

Well, the terrace is pretty self-explanatory. I mean, if I had to get a restraining order for someone bugging me IN the terrace cause they can’t figure out where the Mystic Forge is, I’ll quit this game, seriously.

I’ve had the Royal Terrace pass since inception, I use it several times each day, and I think I have only once ever had anyone ask me how to get in. I have, however, offered the information to those being kicked from the instance, only to be told they were bots. Lol.

Oh, well. I would have to agree with JT; I’d rather not have incorrigibles sharing the space.

I spend a lot of time in the Royal Terrace and I’ve never anything remotely like what you describe. I’m very sorry that it’s happening to you.

People sometimes ask me or in /say how to get to Sesame Street; I tell them. Once a year, someone takes out on me their dissatisfaction with the gem shop; I respond politely once and block them if they can’t get control of themselves.

If you are seeing different behavior, /report the person each time it happens. I doubt very much if venting here on the forums about it will have any affect on the list of items available in the store.

i simply cannot +1 a suggestion like this. in fact it’s the first instance i’ve heard of this in well, ever. I don’t like some of the annoying nonsense said on map chat either, but i’ve made separate chat tabs so i don’t have to read it (should i not have to do that? i don’t have an opinion) is it that people are constantly bothering you every day? if that’s the case it’s probably the same few people.
secondly, it’s an mmorpg you’re going to get people who are going to pm you. if it takes on a badgering tone, block them, problem solved. if it’s harassment, report it as such.

That is strange. I’ve had the scroll for a while and no one has ever asked me personally. I’ve seen a question in say chat asking a couple of times and I’ve answered. Its always ended there.

But I have no idea why ANet doesn’t have items like this for sale either continuously or more frequently. To me, they are losing money by only selling once every blue moon.

I’m surprised that this is a problem- especially to the point of regular/daily verbal abuse as described by the OP.

If it was me, by this point I’d just block anybody who whispered me asking about the Terrace Pass, if getting sworn at was a predictable response.

lmao, I’m not trying to whine line a child, I promise, I’m not… It’s just… you get tired of rude people after a while and personally, I’m tired of blocking and reporting childish players. I have better things to do in this game than bother with that. That’s all. And I would adore the airship, I would… if it weren’t so… condensed. I feel like I’m in a coffin when I was on the airship last year.

You know, since your experience is so different from everyone else’s, I’m wondering if you are being specifically targeted. Are all the people in the same guild? To me it sounds like people doing it on purpose as no one else is reporting anything like your situation.

Try going invisible before you go inside there. After you leave, turn it back to online. If you get a whisper after you have left the area about the terrace, don’t answer it. Just block it.

I would love it if they brought it back. Two friends started the game recently and want to hang out in the same place.

^ Apparently there are a bunch of trolls wanting access (even though I have never seen them myself nor most others in this thread) so I suggest they never sell it again if this is the case. It only makes sense.

Okay after some thought on the issue it seems, at least on the surface, the issue of being harassed about having a Royal Terrace pass is somewhat unique to the OP. Or at least the OP is the only one myself and others in this thread have seen report this either on the forums or in game. So that makes me wonder what is going on. I’ll present two possible scenarios, both of which are not very friendly but hey I think out loud here at times.

Scenario 1: Since it is difficult to tell if a player is in the terrace, perhaps the OP is posting something in map chat regularly like, “I’m going to the royal terrace.” This may cause people to see the post and question how to get there. Especially if this is happening several times a day as reported by the OP.

Scenario 2: The not friendly tinfoil hat version. Sorry OP I’m just typing out loud here. It seems the OP has previously suggested the Royal Terrace pass be reintroduced so their other accounts can have access as seen here posted 18 days ago:

There is no mention of the constant harassment in the post I quoted which is also interesting. Of course that doesn’t eliminate the idea that the daily harassment started after said post. However the OP did state this harassment has been going on for over a month now. So this might be things that make you go Hmmmm. I’m not sure how many will get that last reference.

Anyway, just a thought. Sorry if I offend OP.

That actually makes more sense than random people harassing the OP. I was rather wondering because if it was a guild of people harassing him, eventually they would run out of members to continue this as he keeps blocking them, assuming you could get a large guild full of people to all do this.

I work as a private security dispatcher. One night, one of my site guards called in that he had someone loitering on his site. Okay, um… while I in no way deny that I requested Anet to re-release the Terrace Scroll, I feel quoting me on a post I made roughly a month ago has no barring on this particular thread. Why would I “concoct” anything to use as a reason to post on the forums? What am I, 12 years old? That would be beyond childish and completely unnecessary.

I fully understand the confusion a lot of you have posted here, as you have not encountered this problem, but it doesn’t make my post any less true. We deal on a MegaServer now, what is so hard to understand that while you, on your map, don’t run into annoying, unsavory people regarding the Royal Terrace, who’s to say it doesn’t happen on a different map… to people like… say… me?
