I really would like an answer from Anet on that question since i havent found any yet.

So here it is.

In HOT, when you get the game, you got an additionnal character slot just from buying the basic game. Meaning that if you get the “Deluxe” edition, you get 2 caracter slots.

Can I asume that it is the same thing for FOF? By buying the “STANDART” game I should get 1 character slot and get 2 by buying the Deluxe edition.

PoF standard does not come with a character slot. The HoT standard character slot was only for pre-purchases as a bonus and due to complaints at the time. So if you buy Deluxe PoF or Ultimate you will only get 1 character slot and none for PoF standard.

You get exactly what the store page advertises.

Basic PoF does not come with an extra character slot.

Delux and Ultimate edition come with 1 character slot.

The extra character slot for HoT was added retroactively to appease veterans and was granted only for a limited amount of time and mostly for preorders only (and was at that time also not advertised on the store page). You are remembering incorrectly about getting an extra character slot with the basic HoT edition.

Well I bought basic HoT and I get additional character slot, I didn’t preorder, actually I bought it in 2016. I am surprised basic PoF won’t give character slot Oo

Ok, I was wrong I forget that I bought slot expansion.

If you pre-ordered HoT you got a free character slot for 2 reasons:
1) Players were angry that if they’d already used all their character slots they’d have to pay extra to make a revenant when the profession was a major selling point of the expansion.
2) Players were angry that HoT cost the same regardless of whether you already had the base game or not – many people interpreted it as being charged again for something they already had.

Since the base game had been on sale for $10 (same price as a character slot) a few months earlier some people on the forum suggested that a good solution to both problems would be for Anet to throw in a free slot. So that’s what they did.

Since PoF does not include a new profession and HoT is sold separately instead of being bundled with it there is no reason for them to do that this time around so they’re offering different pre-purchase freebies instead.

HoT had new profession, PoF doe’s not. Also single char slot is not that expensive and you can buy it with gold in game.

Also, keep in mind that HoT came with a new profession. PoF does not come with any new professions, hence for most people there is no need to add another character to the pool.
