Probably. If if it is you can probably also thank all the people last year that had a major hissy fit on the forums and made ANet go and apologize to them for making an April fools joke that they decided to be triggered by.

Sigh. While I enjoyed the patch notes I would love to have had an in-world April Fools joke today. I really have enjoyed the past ones too and judging by the Bobble head Laboratory and Aviator box. It is one day to just have fun in a world that isn’t seeing a lot of fun right now.

Going back to look at that thread. 34 pages of complaints and accusing ANet of insensitivity. (Plus I understand there was a Reddit thread also). It’s not surprising if they decided that it wasn’t worth it,

Omg I forgot just how much people whined about last year. It’s honestly not surprising at all that they didn’t do a typical prank.

It’s sad, but I really can’t say I blame Anet. This falls on the overly sensitive, whiny, so “politically correct” it hurts, portion of society that wants to be offended by everything. I’d still rather see Anet tell them what they can do with their triggers and give us a prank anyway, but I can understand why anyone would want to avoid having to deal with that level of idiocy.

Those joke patch notes were still pretty great, though. And I think SAB is a well-received “consolation prize” for a big part of the community.

Thanks for the Prank Patch Notes! They were hilarious. I had fun reading them.

Ah but don’t you see? The prank is that those aren’t prank patch notes. They will be implemented at server reset tonight.

The joke is on me. I was expecting the yearly prank so I didn’t log in last night.

The Chronomancer one in PvP was the best patch note of all

I’d wish Anet would tell the incessant whiners where to go take it to… But sadly, that won’t happen in the current social environment…
