If you do not feel like playing with the “airplane mode” on for the whole day, here’s how you can disable most of it.

• How to remove sepia effect: go to Settings, Graphic Options, set Postprocessing to None.

• How to remove character noises: go to Settings, Sound Options, drag Dialog Volume all the way to the left.

• How to remove the helmet: use a tonic and leave, the helmet is removed.

When April 1 is officially over, put those settings back to where they were.

Easier fix, don’t play till April 2nd.

Like all jokes it’s usually funny and even cute for about the first 30 seconds. Do I really want to put up with this all day? I don’t think so.

That said it does make actually playing the game kind of unenjoyable. Hopefully the patch reverses at noon otherwise the joke is on ANet, if I remember the April Fools “rules” correctly

Although I’ve enjoyed my ten minutes of this, I could do with finding out how to switch the grainy film flickering off. Anyone found any way to do that, or am I just missing the obvious? The flickering is performing a minor scramble on my brain, albeit to the tune of 633 Squadron, which isn’t entirely displeasing.

Although... my engineer is having a lovely time.

Entering an SPvP Arena temporarily disables it.

Lol. Yeah, sorry about that. I only gave half a consideration for the title. If I recall, there weren’t as many angry threads when I first made it..

Someone gets the April Fools joke.

Yeah should have gone with the tonic. Losing the combat animation had me a bit off and significantly lessened my enjoyment of wvw. I should have just skipped today. I will skip next year.
