PTR (Public Test Realm)
PTR’s don’t do anything. Just look at WoW’s recent fiasco. Expac on PTR for 6 months, it launches and a low level paladin solo’s the shiny new raid boss lol.

PTRs are all about reducing risk.. it is not eliminating risk altogether.
Just admit it. Your QC (Quality control) team obviously isn’t up for the task.
Let the gamers help, you need it.
I cannot quote this enough. ArenaNet has shown time and time again they need help designing and balancing, now they just need to own up to it and put in a PTR.
I don’t know if PTR’s would solve the problem, but whatever they are doing right now isn’t working.
“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
PTS is needed just as much for player/developer relations as it is for game testing.
I laughed after reading all the posts, and Jesus I can’t stop laughing, I’m thankful.
A PTR, while an excellent idea, will never work in GW2 where you have a monthly development cycle built around events. Think about it. In one month the code has to be finalized, QAed, and implemented. There simply is no window of time in which a PTR could play its role and add value. While I support the notion of a PTR, it makes no sense while monthly events are perceived as a large part of the GW2 value proposition.
Well, the solution to that is easy. Simply skip a month. That way, they always have a month to test patches. But I guess that would make too much sense?
