Pacific time means what ? im from eu
Agreed. Using GMT, the international standard, would make those of us not from North America feel like valued customers.

Actually, here in Britain a lot of people still use the old Imperial system of measurement, as opposed to Metric.
But yeah, GMT is standard.
Time is a river.
The door is ajar.
I believe they use Pacific time because they are located in Washington, which is run on Pacific time. Most game companies tend to do things based on what time zone they are located in.
Its a US developed game so PST is standard. They usually give CET as well which is GMT+1 but sometimes the US posters forget to include.
Either way just google for a converter from PST to GMT, its not that hard. Im from UK and have no issue.
Retired and living in a shack. Relaxing!
3/4 of the US also have a different time zone. Should i feel discriminated because the forum is not on central time?
The problem is that all time zones besides GMT are always hard to grasp. Because PST is not always GMT -8 because sometimes it is daylight saving etc.
GMT is always GMT and is free from seasonal changes. That doesn’t seam to be much, but seriously who should I know when day light saving time somewhere on the globe starts and if there is even something like daylight saving.
The best ist when you talk with people on the southern globe. Boy that get’s confusing. So yeah, could you please use the GMT. I acually live in the CET time zone, but I prefer times in GMT regardless.
And yeah living in the USmakes it easier for you to understand what PST is. CET would be as foreign to you as PST is to us. That is why we have a time standard in the first place and that is GMT, so there is no reason not to use it.

Yes I know there are such sites, but there would be no reason to use these if people would stick to the standard.
I just need my watch to check the time and since I know my time zone I also know the GMT. So times given in GMT are international and easy to grasp for anybody who has an elementary school degree.
I wouldn’t use a calculator for 3×4 or 5² I can do this in my head and I know what time it is – GMT that is.
it is selfish kind of u can use the global time GMT foruma for this instead the pacific thing u got players away from canada and usa u know that , and i feel discriminated sorry for bad english
Google it. This is not difficult to figure out. There is no reason not to use pacific time over any other time zone, in fact, as the company is based on pacific, it makes perfect sense that they should use that.

For what it’s worth, GMT is as foreign to the majority of Americans as CET. It’s rarely taught in public schools. Really, the US is about the same size as the whole EU, so far fewer Americans are directly involved in international business and travel.

Seriously?! O_o
What kind of educational system do you have? Because that sounds pretty horrible.
I understand that you don’t know how to utilize metric mesurements unless you want to become scientist or that you are not forced to be fluent in at least two languages.
But understanding time systems and standardization of time is simple geography. That is something you learn in elementary school and my geography lessons were pretty bad for german standards.
You also have diffrent time zones in your country, so isn’t that something pretty important you should learn?
I really apologize if this sounds offending or anything, it isn’t meant that way, but I am seriously baffled by this.

We’re taught that time zones exist and why they’re necessary, obviously. And we’re taught how to convert between our internal time zones. However, this is generally in the form of “Add 3 hours to Pacific time to get Eastern time.” GMT need not factor in at all. (It certainly didn’t in my education, and I did VERY well on standardized tests, so my education can’t have completely sucked by American standards.)
The stereotypes about Americans sucking at geography really are true, for the most part. Since the federal requirements are extremely lax, students doing well in that subject doesn’t contribute to district funding at all, which in turn means not much time is allotted for it
Ya know, don’t most cell phones now have world clocks built into the applications???

Ah ok, that explains a lot. Thanks that was in fact pretty educational, and now I can better understand why PST is used instead of GMT.
I am in South Africa- GMT + 2.
I always have trouble trying to convert to US time zones- the number of times I was really interested enough to, I used the net, but every single time so far it turns into some ridiculous time that I might as well not have bothered.
So when I read PST it automatically translates as “middle of the night” to me.
If you are using Mozilla Firefox, use the addon foxclocks. I have 3 clocks on there, GMT, US eastern time and PST. I find it helps alot.

have to lol… GMT is standard and meter isn’t?
Hi everyone,
As a rule, we give both the PST and the CET. We might have forgotten one this time (pun intended) for what it seems. Please accept our apologies; we will forward this to the team to make sure both timestamps are provided.
Thanks for your understanding.
