Parachute!
They still haven’t put one in yet? Even after having the skypirates as a major LS patch? What gives?
I’m amazed considering much older games now have gliders as well as parachutes!

Or rappels. They should make mini-games out of all this or jumping puzzles or all of the above. The way we play this game will be changed forever !!!
At the very least engineers should have one.
I’m sure they’d have to worry about people using it to get to places they’re not supposed to, if they allow such things to be used anywhere.
Maybe at specific points, though? Like the diving goggles?
delicate, brick-like subtlety.
I doubt the game engine would be able to support that.

It could work exactly like diving goggles, but turning you invulnerable in a radius around the vista, that seems totally doable by the current engine.
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)
I don’t see how this could make people be able to complete puzzles easier, I’ve yet to ever encounter one where a parachute could lift you higher to the next tier which generally is how most of the hardest ones work. Also, a simple 1 direction parachute would allow players the option of jumping without the problems of landing at the top of these puzzles because the hardest ones generally have no outside access surrounding the area that anyone could get high enough to leap onto these things and finish them from anywhere else.

I don’t think there are any animations that ‘slow down’ your character while falling, so they’d have to code for that.

There’s at least one puzzle that would be made completely trivial if ArenaNet were to introduce a parachute/glider into the game, and that’s Behem Gauntlet.
Other than that, I don’t recall any Jump Puzzles that make extensive use of falling. Personally, I can see ArenaNet disallowing the use of these items while inside of a Jump Puzzle, so it wouldn’t be that big of a problem. I’m for it!!

Oh, I wasn’t thinking about that part, I was imagining just fall at normal speed, the “parachute” would only make you not die. The slow down I agree, they would need to code that, there is nothing similar to that in the current game.

Chill!!! with a different character graphic.
… and quit killing good ideas in the making.
Saving it for the Commando class
I miss my WoW parachute XD I’ve often wondered why engineers can’t just, y’know, make one.
[Xian] Terracotta Army – Desolation server
Grappling hooks. Because let’s face it. Swinging around in city’s, jumping from roof to roof…. Need I say more.
Vizier’s Tower would be a good location.
