Am I blind? Does anyone see what time the actual patch will be introduced today?

From what I understand they haven’t released the time of the update.

How is it weird? They have never released a time for an update.

They never tell us exact times in advance

They haven’t given an exact time of release for any update, just a release date.

Wait so it the patch not requiring down time? or do they just like.. yolo.. pull the plug without notice…

GW2 servers don’t need downtime. Patches will be inserted live and you’ll be forced to re-login (incl updating your client) sooner or later.

The only thing that ever goes down around patches is the auction house/gem store and that is because it just goes down a lot and not because of a patch.

Ooops. Never the use the words “patch” and “time” in the same post on days like today. Entries containing those words often wind up erased.

Usually, the reboot happens between 12PM-1:30PM Eastern Standard Time.

Anet HQ is situated in Seattle Washington on the west coast US. Which means it’s not even 6am for them. The probably aren’t even in the office right now.

The update probably won’t be out for another 3 or 4 hours.

Usually the only advance warning we get of patches is the in-game message of a new build being available in the next 2 hours…. followed by a disconnection to start downloading the new patch 5 minutes later.

Yup, its always been randomish. One time it was at midnight pacific (iirc), though usually its anywhere from 9am-3pm pacific (though it could be 8pm pacific like last year, which iirc was the Halloween update).

They’d have to do an extra patch the day before the patch to put in the patch-norn riding the yak.

They’d have to do an extra patch the day before the patch to put in the patch-norn riding the yak.

It’d be worth it.

Not necessarily. They know the schedule (every two weeks), so I would think they could put something that only shows up every other week on a Tuesday. I’m pretty sure they had stuff in there before that became enabled on a certain, without a patch.

New build in 10 minutes. =)
