Pretty lackluster in my opinion, no nerfs to thieves, mesmer portal is virtually unchanged, moa still lasts 10 seconds, and more than half of the bullet points are fixed tooltips. No changes to wvwvw. Overall, this is less than half what I was expecting.

Good to have more bug fixes anyways.

Honestly all i see is CONSTANT buffs for warriors. As a ranger i remember them saying they will dedicate a patch to us…..they did irrelevant buffs for us and icon fixes really?

Nerfed the elemntalist even more…engie nerfs don’t even matter that much..they will still be extremely viable

I will just quit playing ranger… it’s clear they intentionally are either constant nerfing or doing useless changes on traits nobody will ever use. I am now 100% positive they are trying to remove this class from the game slowly by killing it.

I am honestly disgusted with these “balance” patch notes. U are making your game a 1 class game. U haven’t listened to 1 word ppl have been telling u about rangers (i am not talking about other classes, because i didn’t chose others btw, i am strictly talking about my class).

I ask u the community…(EXCEPT WARRIORS) what do u think of the patch notes. Honest opinions.

“Bomb Kit, Med Kit, Tool Kit, and Elixir Gun: These skills can now be equipped in the air.”

Gave me an idea – give engineers parachutes. After all they are the flagship class and unique to GW2.

Also, anybody notice the ‘kitten’ in the patch notes? It’s 5th page already so i’m guessing someone did.

A fair amount of profession changes this patch, but a lot of concerns I read from players on these forums seem to have gone unaddressed. When can we expect a truly big update to address balancing and bugs?

I also feel communication isn’t that great. Can you guys be better about letting the community know what profession issues you are looking at? Can you defend/justify your balancing decisions to the community? Nobody likes being nerfed, perhaps if you would elaborate on your design decisions that would promote more understanding… and less resentment.

Yeah i was kinda shocked at the warrior changes, no nerf – all buffs!. For me i recon it’s time to roll a warrior, i want a class that doesn’t get nerfs all the time and it seems the warrior is that class.
—-
The main one that shocked me though is the Guardian Orb or Light change, most orb complaints are about the orb speed on the scepter (as you can avoid it so easily due to its slow speed) and hardly anyone complains about the orb speed on the staff, – so it’s kinda strange that the speed was fixed on the staff and not the scepter.

Warriors are not a broken an unbalanced profession. Thats why they continue to gets very small fixes instead of nerfs. As far as u saying warriors didn’t receive a balance nerf your wrong about that. Healing shouts no longer heal unlimited am outs of players. Which also means all other professions can no longer do that either.

I don’t think Warriors need a nerf tbf and they hardly got a buff they just had a bunch of projectile finishers added hardly game breaking. Any way I was shocked to see the lack of changes to Rangers, and cannot believe they nerfed my Ele, truly dissapointed with this “Major Class Balance” patch.

Well based on what I have seen in the patch notes and the game thus far I am guessing that unless you play a Warrior, Guardian, Mesmer, or Thief you really won’t be happy.

So, when the next big game comes out I’m gone. I’m really tired of being lied to. I played a Warlock in WoW and a Conjuror in EQ2 both of those experiences were sub-par. I hate leveling alts.

Why put a class in the game if you will not support it or balance it? Pointless. Only thing this does is create drama after people invest months in a character and find out it just can’t compete.

That makes the gaming experience un-fun.

Thief backstab spike builds were barely touched and they got minor buffs in other areas.

This is bizarre. We have quoted statements from the devs saying they were going to nerf spike builds and redistribute the damage. They’ve done no such thing.

We also have quotes from Jon Peters specifying ranger changes to shouts and signets. Guess what? They don’t exist.

And why has the ele tornado been nerfed again? It’s already considered the worst elite in the game!

ANet REALLY needs to stop with the nerfs until they’ve fixed the bugs.

Overall I’m underwhelmed.

For bug fixes bordering the 3 month mark, this is simply not inspiring.

Perhaps my issue is my main is an Engineer (and the fixes listed are uninspiring for any of the builds that I’d gravitate towards) and this offers me nothing I care about.

My hope is that there is more coming in rapid succession as the events turn live but it’s hard to find this to be enthusiasm worthy.

I’m glad to see the bug fixes in general, but these look like low hanging fruit rather than the bugs that were vexing myself and others I associate with regularly.

I do need to read the other patch notes relating to other classes more thoroughly for a more complete opinion on the patch overall. The improved drops in dungeons and world activities in general IS a very positive change, but again, long overdue and it loses much of it’s oomph because of it for me.

What on earth is Anet doing? The past few patch notes have been nothing but disappointments and this one isn’t any different. Nerfs to classes in desparate need of help, a plethora of useless tooltip adjustments, minor bugfixes and a total lack of attention payed to some of the most pressing issues in game balance (spike dps builds in thief and warrior)

Even Gravity does a better job of patching and balancing.

I put my ranger alt on the back burner pending this patch. It just has this feeling of becoming less and less powerful as it levels, oddly enough (currently 43). Guess he’ll stay there a little longer.

As for the rest of the balance notes… as I recall, didn’t we have a quote from some Dev floating around that there were five pages of skill changes? This hardly looks like the entire patch note would take 5 pages of space… Or is it just me?

Well, I for one don’t expect them to ever balance classes, or anything else for that matter. Do they honestly expect anyone to believe their mantra that they carefully considered classes and balance thereof prior to the game going live and based on that they will not make many changes unless, to paraphrase, hell freezes over? Sure, and they tested the classes in the game setting too. Just like they tested everything else that hasn’t worked right, never worked at all, or sometimes works if you hold your tongue just right.
Then another official release says they really listen to people playing the game. Is that what they mean when people get their tell-tale reply that things are functioning as intended? I guess even things that are broken are functioning as intended. Sounds like another way of saying that we really don’t plan on fixing things.
I fully understand that this game is free to play, so to speak, so there is absolutely no financial incentive to fix anything. Anet seems to be interested in just rolling out special events often enough to peak peoples’ curiosity and interest, and at the same time making sure that there are lots and lots of ties to the event in the cash store for them to pay the people making the next event. As doing other things, like fixing broken events, pois, quests, etc., those seem to be relegated to the team (read as 1 person) who comes in part-time every other Wednesday afternoon.
Sorry if my response is a little weak in sarcasm. I’m getting help to learn how to use it more often.

Yup. For the classes I play ( Engineer, Necro, Warrior, Ranger ) almost all of the changes are relatively minor bugfixes and not a single one of the actual issues are being adressed ( Warrior has none, mind you, still leaves three classes though ).

The game started out with pretty decent balancing overall, so immediate sweeping changes just weren’t necessary. Seeing this patch after three months is disappointing however. What were they doing all this time ?

Very, very disappointing. They made it seem a lot more comprehensive and grand than it was. There are still all kinds of problems plaguing the classes. For thieves, a terrible elite, a terrible P/P set, a nerfed S/D while spike damage remains untouched. Elementalists are still just bad. I sincerely hope there’s more coming.

My first reaction reading the change notes was “This is someone’s joke on Reddit, right?”

Engineers still cannot get working sigils despite that being promised sometime around launch three frigging months ago, turrets still do not scale with anything (see above) but hey let’s eat some damage nerfs instead in case someone actually goes in to a coma at the keyboard and actually gets hit by one in PvP someday.
