Oh and I presume they are gonna show the WvW changes too, so Tequatl is not all that there’s to it.
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
The chat was the most infantile I have seen.
It’s something similar to zerging except players in that zerg can’t suck. Basically they’re trying to make large scale content challenging. Yes, Tequatl is a damage sponge but he also has abilities that will kill you if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Yeah its strong and can kill you but this is not the type of challenge players want! We want large scale INSTANCED content that you can do with your guild/group of players and when you fail you stop and think “ok what went wrong and what can we do to get better?”. This open world stuff? You cant coordinate with all the trolls/bad players/afkers for loot…
this kind of content is just anoying. these events r much too big. no fun at all. when its harder its not better. its just more anoying.
Yeah main page twitch chat is always terrible. Even more so with zero moderation. I just hide it and watch the stream. :P

the chat makes me sad..
The revamped Tequatl while cool i guess is not anything anybody asked for… its hard to wrap my head around this stuff
i’m happy with the changes to it though where you do not need to run around looting stuff before bodies despawn but i don’t know… i guarantee this boss can be solved quite easily just capping out the zone with the event because everyone will try and want shiny new ascended weapons that probably won’t drop except that 1 person that already has Eternity
I don’t know the whining the players are doing is honestly kitten ing me off more than the direction they are taking this game
I think people are just annoyed at the fact many of the “big changes” are things that should have been there one year ago. YAY LFG tool…thats standard in mmo’s now. Content thats not 1 spam? That is day one stuff. I hope there is more myself. There not bad changes but its stuff that should have been there all along in this gaming era.

Maybe, if they were INSTANCED AND ACTUALLY CHALLENGING. Which they are not sooooooooo
hard enough to make them cry, not just rivers but oceans."

You can to a certain extent. Then again, you’re probably going to be bringing your guild with you to do this sort of content anyway. It will just happen that there are other players that will tag along. I don’t know the player limit per zone but I think that if you can manage to bring about 50 of your guild mates you should be fine. The rest of the players aren’t as essential to the fight. Having them there won’t even hurt. It’s not like their corpses turn into risen; at least I hope not. They can contribute damage and maybe help defend things.
I welcome this alternative to getting ascended. RNg or not it’s not crafting.
Can see this thread being locked because too many people expressed their disappointment and its not negativity mods want to see here rofl
Game companies these days..only care about making money out of kids who spend money in the cash shop..for this reason they design games that a 6 years old kid can master in 1 hour…the future of videogames
The future of GW2 and Call of Duty for sure.
The line that keeps being used is “We hear what the community is asking for”. That actually makes matters worse because they hear us but they just don’t actually care what we think.
Just pointing out the obvious, which some seem to ignore.
PS on another note..the people in the twitch chat…wow…just wow, I cannot blame anet for not responding to any of the comments
It’s pretty kitten sad. I was there for about 15 minutes and you could hardly read the chat ( not that a sane person would to boot ) from all the random Guilds wanting GvG spamming. I wouldn’t reply either.
Well, the second group faired better, but still failed. Let’s see if the third group can beat this.

And impartial observer would’ve noted that revamping the loot pinatas we call world bosses was something many players asked for, me included. Didn’t a recent thread about making the open world harder get upvoted?
Why do I even bother posting here with the whiner army all up in arms?
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
I think the high health pool might be a bit of a problem. Having mechanics that wipe people who are playing poorly makes sense. It encourages coordination and skillful play. Having a high health pool on the other hand really only enforces the idea of min/maxing for damage output.
Definitely, timers and/or high health pools are a no-no in my book. But how else would you make it challenging as long as people who die can get back into the fight relatively fast? (They will deactivate some waypoints, but still)
“You can’t have more than 10 HS decks because that would confuse people”
“30 fps is more cinematic”
Well, you know how it is with more content. Someone will always complain.
Now you could release a couple of big patches in a year and have people complain about it a few times a year. Or you could decide to do 25 smaller updates a year so people can complain all year long about it and never feel like it was enough.
Personally I think it’s good to be able to have big changes from time to time. Wake people up, refresh the game. With smaller updates the danger is that the impact is always relatively small and so it never really feels fresh and renewed I guess.

People have been asking for things like player housing, new races/skills, gvg, better armor choices, more WvW updates, polymock, precursor crafting/scavenger hunt, new legendaries, guild halls, and other things far more than just making Tequatl behave slightly differently.
Cmon guys dont event try to White knight on this, they really fail on this one
notice how many thousands of players asking for gvg while devs show more stupid zerging
It’s not “thousands of players asking for GvG,” it’s a handful of people spamming the chat over and over again. The same names keep scrolling by, spamming the same copy-pasted stuff.

Classic example of the vocal minority.
They did say you can get special Ascended Weapons out of this as well as a Tequatl mini. So it’s not just rares possible. Plus it requires coordination beyond mindlessly hacking at a dragon’s toe.
I’m not commenting on the actual fight, as I haven’t seen it and it would be unfair to judge it one way or the other without having done so. But I will comment on the ascended weapon and mini-pet, though.
Many of you seem to be missing the beef many of us are having with the direction the game is headed. We’re not interested in loot. We don’t care about higher-tiered weapons. We don’t care about the typical carrots that many other MMOs use to keep players grinding away at a game.
In fact, it’s just the opposite for many of us. We signed up because this game was supposed to get away from all that. So for many of us, the fact that Teq might drop a shiny new weapon or a flashy new mini-pet is of FAR less significance that whether or not the revamped fight is fun.

if you keep telling you that it may happen, or not. Seriously… THIS is their new content???
More WvW updates? (coming, they are gonna be previewed on stream soon enough) LFG? There it is. Precursor crafting? Didn’t they announce it?
The point is, dear geikamir, unless you have interviewed at least 20% of the playerbase (this forum is less than 5% and I doubt you know the opinion of every single poster) you don’t know jack kitten about what the playerbase wants. For example, I couldn’t give two kittens about more legendaries yet you mention them in your post ( by the way, they will update most of the legendaries on the 3rd of September and they have announced new Legendaries before 2014).
Again, no point in arguing with the whinearmy. Bubye.

Some of these things are already in the game. Others aren’t as feasible right now and resources are probably better spent elsewhere.
- New races will require their own personal story additions.
- GvG will really just be sPvP but between players from different guilds.
- There will be new skills added to the game.
- I’m not sure what you mean by better armor choices but there are new runes, lots of new skins, and Ascended armor coming up.
- There’s been a number of WvW updates. They’re also bringing new features in and bringing the orbs back somehow.
- Precursor crafting will likely appear in some future update after everyone’s crafted their Ascended weapons.
- Playing housing/guild halls seems like a good idea but it could end up being really gimmicky. How often do you think people would actually visit their own houses or guild halls?

Yes these things require resources, all things do. By you saying the resources are better spent elsewhere you are doing exactly what they are. These things are constantly being asked for, but always ignored or postponed for indefinite or excessive amounts of time.
All the things you have tried to answer with “it’s coming, maybe, sometime in the future” which is all we’ve heard for a year.
Just shows how far out of touch with the community that they are as many times as they say “they hear us”. And by that i’m not referring to the chat spam, just the direction of things in general.
Question to the people saying they aren’t listening to the community…are you feeling that the forums are the community, or are you thinking of the in-game community? Because these forums are maybe 15% of the people who play the game, and I hardly feel that these forums are worth listening to most of the time…especially the sPvP forums.

Because most of the gaming community come to these forums to see what is going on. But most of them will never post.

People who ask for updates to sPvP seem to forget that they’ve added three new maps along with all the features like spectator, solo queue, private arenas, etc. People who ask for better champion loot got what they wanted too, much to the chagrin of the non-farming players.
More importantly, people who have been asking for a LFG tool are getting exactly that. It is coming in the update after Super Adventure Box. The best part about it is that it’s not limited to dungeons only. You can use it to find players for open world events or to just group up for whatever reason. I think it’s time we stopped pretending that there have been no changes made to the game.
Kinda lame he never seems to get new abilities after each cannon phases (except the vortex thing at 75%).

No doubt, it’s made for us, I agree. However, they have a crapton of other content they’re working on for us to progress their game. They’re delivering content, updates, changes etc. It’s just not what you want.
