Are these performance issues ever going to get fixed? I post this here because I’m not reporting it I just want to discuss it, it seems like people with the highest end hardware are lagging sometimes too, this is the slowest game I ever played but it doesn’t even look as good as say Crysis or BF3 or Skyrim but it runs 10x slower.

Are they ever going to improve performance at all? I’m getting tired of waiting around forever for if’s and buts, I even stopped playing the game until they get some sort of optimization patch out, I’m getting sick of it, I’m can’t deal with all this unnecessary lag forever, when is ArenaNet going to stop ignoring it and do something about it?

Runs fine for me across three monitors (5760×1080) with a single graphics card.

My FPS jumps from 45 to 60. Running on an Asus G74SX-DH72 with ThrottleStop.

First of all MMO’s are a different beast altogether compared to SP games and regular MP games like bf3. Infact the tech has come a long way. It used to be like " the game does not look too good but it is expected since it is a mmo"

Which was quite correct, every mmo out there compared to sp games or w/e just did not look good , period. I say that has changed by a lot already.

performance vs looks : MMO’s have a whole lot more going on and to process then those games that you mention CPU .memory , caching or GPU wise they are a lot more complex and often take a bit of time to slowly be optimised further beyond the closed beta.

Take a look at SWOTR for instance it is miles simpler and lighter in gfx quality but throw a map full of players on your screen and BF3 will show you a higher FPS even though it look a lot prettier.

As for the nvidia 6x videocards it turns out that in that case it is the build in ‘boost’ function exclusive to the 6x series that is the main culprit and add the most to the performance issues.

GW2 is still recieving constant patchs including optimisations.

I run the same resolution with 2xGTX 670s, but what I’ve noticed is that there is only a 10 FPS difference between HD and triple HD, kind of strange. And the FPS difference between max and minimum settings are also fairly small. Seems the game scales pretty badly, or it just has bad SLI support. Now obviously I don’t have any problems running the game maxed out, but because I see very little difference on max and minimum I assume the scaling is bad and the game runs terrible on low end machines.

What do you mean by HD and triple HD ?

you have a 6x series google this: nvidia 670 turn off boost

The so called boost function keeps throwing your gpu into low performance mode on the 6x series.

There is no offical SLI support but it works fine for most people.

Average 30fps solid. For whatever reason I get 60fps in snowy areas. can even fraps around 24-18fps even while there is moderate combat occurring around me. The only time I ever have fps issues is right after alt-tabbing back ingame, I have ot rotate the camera 360 degrees and let the entire surrounding environment load or something. It’s fine after that.

There are horrific performance problems with this game. The longest thread on the forums is dedicated to them: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/Low-FPS-merged/first

There are a TON of people with really good systems getting horrible performance, and their CPU and GPU are BOTH sitting at loads ranging from 10-60%. Doesn’t seem tied to any particular hardware. Happens with Radeon HD 5-7XXX, Geforce 4-6XX, Intel i5/i7, AMD Phenom2, FX series’.

Not everyone is having the issues, but tons and tons of people are.

Hi everybody.

I am sorry but this is the GW2 Discussion forum. If you have issues to ask or report about performance, we would ask you to post them in the subforum Tech Support.

Thanks for your understanding.
I will proceed now to lock the thread.
