Dear fellow gamers,

I’m not that advanced in computers but I feel like my laptop could handle better detail. Here are my specs:
Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8078MB RAM

Intel® HD Graphics 4000
Display Memory: 1696 MB
Dedicated Memory: 64 MB
Shared Memory: 1632 MB

I have no idea what else to put here, can you guys give me the best settings to use?
Thanks in advance!

Laptops in general have a problem with their graphics subsystem. Yours (and most others) uses shared memory for the video RAM and the performance hit is significant. Also, look at the power requirements for a reasonable desktop graphics card. A battery simply could not support that kind of power draw for any length of time.

If your laptop supports it, you could look into getting a dedicated graphics card. Most laptops have integrated GPUs that don’t perform nearly as well.

Its playable for with low settings for PVE questing etc, dungeons/cities will be laggy, and forget about WvW.
