We got permanent mining stuff during the sale, will we get a discount on axes and sickles too? Please Anet, I’ve been waiting for this since forever!

Already made this thread a few days after the pickaxe sale. Anet doesn’t care about consistency and patterns, they only wanted a metric of the sales they would get if they halved the price on the most sought after gathering tool. Clearly they didn’t like the numbers, so they didn’t put of the other two types.

That’s sad, I really need them, even a 20% discount would be nice.

Marketing psychology:

1. They put the most desired tool on sale, but not the rest.
2. Players are now 1/3 on permanent tools so they feel the need to “complete” the set at any cost.
3. Players buy the other 2 tools at full price out of desperation/frustration at no sale.
4. ANET profits.

I want them too… But not gonna spend 1000 gems for each :/

The OCD side of me is screaming for Watchwork harvesting and logging tools. Yeah, I know it doesn’t make sense to have gears falling out of plants and trees, and would totally flood the market with sprockets, but just having one tool, and not a set of tools is really bugging me.

Well, that’s lame… I’d rather wait a year until the next sale than buy them for 1k each (because I’d only use them for dailies anyway). I’ve been sitting on my Gems since March so I’m good at resisting gem store stuff. :P I’ll only cry for a day and then get over it.

I think these tools aren’t worth it unless they give you a copy for every character imo. You get free tools from winderday gifts and you can buy them with karma too. Just seems like 1000 gems is way high for them.

Everyone’s definition of “worth it” is different. It’s almost certainly not cost effective to buy them. However, for those who primarily farm using the same character (or stop off at the bank between sessions), it’s really handy not to have to reserve inventory slots for tools.
