Perplexity Runes to strong pve
Uh, wut?
1st off: Please define your vision of what OP is.
2ndly: Where are you saying confusion is way too powerfull in PVE? Dungeons? Fractals? World Boss events? Heart quests?
3rdly: There’s no creature in the game that hits fast enough to make confusion even remotely “OP” even defined in the most perverse way possible… which is why it’s getting buffed next balance patch.
4th: Get out of here, troll.
I think most people use the CM rune for condition pve build. It seems only mesmer might use it, as the cooldown is long (4): 25% chance when struck to inflict 3 stacks of confusion for 5 seconds. (Cooldown: 25 Seconds).
And I dont’ think it is easy to interupt enemy. Easiest to do is pistol whip. But that is not condition build.
This is based on theory or testing? I’m leaning towards theory as it’s still too soon for testing to be finished.
That said unless they updated the AI, confusion is still unreliable dmg as the ai coding causes foes to slow attacking with inflicted with confusion.
Comparing this patch’s ‘balance’ to earlier patches… confusion in PVE is way to powerfull linked with the Perplexity runes.. Strength runes may give might still, but this confusion.. Maybe anet should take a closer look once again
Confusion is barely worth using in PvE, it’s one of the most underpowered effects in the game.

The only things I would consider using confusion on in PvE are on golems before their spin attack. Those are the only mobs that immediately come to mind that do enough hits in a short amount of time to appear to be worth it. Would I go out of my way to apply confusion, including the runes? No.
Confusion is a condition and conditions suck in pvE. Even in WvW, few use these runes outside of dedicated 1v1ers.

Pretty sure its based on sarcasm, confusions is still useless in PvE, I’d bet they could give it a 333% damage buff and it would still be useless. Especially since pretty much everything in every new area kills even tanky characters in 3-4 hits, you cannot afford to have something swinging at you in order to deal damage to it.

I am pretty sure confusion is useless against golems as well – fairly certain their spin is a channeled skill (could be wrong though), as it can be interrupted at any point. Thus you’ll get a single ‘tick’ of confusion at the very beginning.
So no, there is still no valid use for confusion in PvE. The biggest issue is not even the low amount of damage per skill used (this can be tweaked as it was done in the patch), but the fact that attack speeds differ greatly across different creature types. This results in complete inability to normalize confusion without making it either useless for a large chunk of the game, or completely overpowered for another chunk. Since we can’t have an overpowered condition in PvE, it will remain useless, or marginally useful in a select few encounters. Certainly not something I’d spec for or carry a set of condition armor for.
It must have been really difficult to spot the troll…

Yeah, you’re right. I never used it so lumped it with retaliation.
