I did a search on this here and elsewhere, but could not find any clear answers.

I’m talking about one man guilds for storage purposes.

With HoT nearly here and all the changes pertaining to guilds and guild halls that will come with that.

Is there anything I need to worry about with my personal guild bank? I wasn’t worried until I read this on Dulfy.

Q: Guild banks still exist in Lion’s Arch/Divinity’s Reach?
?Not sure, will need to check

found here…

I guess what I am asking, will I be able to access my bank without a guild hall?

And along the same line….is there anything useful do with my influence points that I have before or after HoT?

This was addressed in the Guild Chat just recently. Basically if your guild has them unlocked you can still access them in the guild hall place in LA. At this stage tho it’s not clear if the npcs will still be available in the other cities. But either way don’t worry you wont lose access to them.

Edit: You can watch the videos here:

I think it was addressed in either the second or third video.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

You should spend what influence you get before the expansion starts. Upgrade, make banners, whatever. Influence will no longer be a currency for guilds and while you can buy favor with influence, iirc it’s at a poor exchange rate.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Actually I would suggest to save the influence because it will be near impossible to get favour for small (including solo) guilds and they did say we will be able to trade influence for favour. Even if it’s a very small amount of favour it’s better than nothing.

Wait, are you saying you won’t be able to get influence after HoT drops?

I think they said basically that guild influence is being changed to guild favor.

Guild favor used for various upgrades and whatnot can only be earned by completing guild missions, puzzles, challenges, etc. We will no longer be able to buy influence and won’t be able to buy favor.

I think they also said you will need at least 5 players to complete some sort of mission where you clear out mordrem enemies in order to gain access to a guild hall.

In other words they are killing off solo guilds and guilds with less than 5 players.

They want to force us to group with other players in order to do anything in this game. It’s sad because this game use to be solo and casual friendly for the most part.

There’s something charming about rangers.

That is correct, you’ll be unable to either gain or use influence to progress your guild. You will need favor.

Building your guild hall
(snip)Second, you’ll need favor, which is earned by running guild missions.(snip)

I completely missed that blog post, thanks for pointing it out to me. If the influence to favour conversion rate is low as people say, I guess it’s time to spend it. But on what…

Did they say whether the Captain’s Heir Ship and/or Royal Terrace would still have g-bank access? What about WvW? (And of course, the PvP lobby, which doesn’t have that …yet.)

John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

I haven’t heard about this and I’m hoping they don’t remove the NPCs. It will be annoying if a visit to the guild bank requires a visit to Lions Arch also.
