I came back to Guild Wars after quite a long time away, and, honestly, I’m one of the folks who is enjoying a number of the updates ANet made to the leveling experience. Halloween was a great boost, and so I’m a bit beyond the levels of my personal story, but I don’t mind – I’m almost to 80 on my Guardian!

However, during the part of the personal story that takes you to Lion’s Arch, I feel confused and bewildered, because every time it pops me into an instance… the landscape changes utterly.

This is a huge mess. How is a person new to the game supposed to understand what’s going on? There is no implication that this is supposed to be ‘historical’, it’s just confusing and frustrating to, say, be standing next to a group of merchants, and accept the instance to find yourself in an empty sandy beach, but the same physical location.

What I love about GW2 and want to see more and more of is immersion, and this is just … rough.

I don’t know whether this has been on the forums before (I know some people complained about PS now being out of order, and having some parts disappear, but not that the design hasn’t kept up with the world as the world changes) – has anyone else noticed this, or been bothered by it, or is it just me?

The instance at the first fort where you meet up with the pact for the first time is worse. Supposedly you have just setup this fort and are using it to launch an offensive, however you are surrounded by a destroyed fort with Mordromoth vines all over the place. It just seems ridiculously commical.

It’s better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open it and remove all doubt.
