Personal Story, September lunacy
Until Anet removes the weapon skill unlocks and reverts it back to the way it was, or at least makes it optional for old players, I will be playing another game. It is really sad because I loved this game so much and it shocks me how a game developer can completely ruin a game in a single day. This “feature” pack goes against everything this game claimed to be, and instead of adding features, removed them. Why not call it a “simplifier pack” instead since all this update did was simplify the game into a braindead state just like WoW.

I completely agree with you. One of the most appealing aspects of the game was the fact that everything wasn’t handed to you on a silver platter. You actually had to play the game and learn for yourself. This way alts actually made sense. Now it’s, like you said, just like any other mmo that tried to hard and failed.
Hey,
I have been playing Guild Wars 2 for quite some time now, as well as frantically recommending it to my friends who don’t already play it.
I have searched the forums for about an hour now not finding any help, whatsoever, from Arenanet when it comes to threads for feedback regarding the personal story update. If this goes completely ignored, so help me god I will quit playing the game altogether.
They have completely ruined the game.
Completely.
Having already accepted the fact that there is no feasible way to earn any real gold without the microtransactions, besides spending ungodly amounts of time farming, and at the same time being moderately thrilled with the living stories, I just cannot BELIEVE why they would spit in the many faces of the people who play the game. There was, without a shadow of a doubt, an obvious plethora of alternative methods that could have been used to (key words here;) SUBTLY but EFFECTIVELY change the leveling of lower leveled characters without slamming everybody else.
The fact that the main story was spread out made it easier and more fun, also you actually had something to look forward to and to keep you motivated while grinding mobs in Lornar’s Pass. But no.
Now instead, you have to sit around and mash keys until your fingers bleed just to play the one part of the game that keeps you wanting to level up.
Why would they punch themselves in the balls like this?
I now have 7 levels left on one of my alts before I can access the next “chapter” which, for some reason (still not clear to me) unlocks at level 70. What would separate that from me just grinding Grawl trappers until I reach 80?In this aspect, the patch seemed a whole lot more like stepping through some kind of wormhole and landing in some butt (no profanity…) backwards bizarro world where patches actually drastically worsen the quality of the actual game.
Who does this actually appeal to?
Thank you, Arenanet, for probably ignoring this altogether.
Cheers
You’re playing the game wrong. You’re not supposed to be grinding for xp.

Obviously. What with the loss of the massive experience boost received in the personal story quests, I guess completing every heart in every low level area is the only way to go.
I don’t know if I just need to take time to cool down about this… or quit.. I came back to GW2 simply because of how I could access skills so early… now it’s not there..
AS long as we have to Farm hearts, Dungeons, champs, etc .. You’ll always be grinding, but at least pre patch i Could dismiss it a little

You don’t get xp from each mission anymore?
You don’t get xp from each mission anymore?
Yeah, but since they’re so far apart it really doesn’t do that much for you anymore. The consistency is lost.
