Personal goal: lvl80 of every profession
Altaholism is a disease.
As a superset of 8×80s, I’m planning to do 15 toons, to cover every personal story.
Yes, I probably need professional help.
I already have 15 characters… I cover 7 professions with those 15 characters (3 of each race). But, I might recreate my last Charr as engineer, simply to have one…
Me too – 6/8 have reached lvl 80 so far and now I’m finishing off with my Necro at 14 and Thief at 13. I’ve only completed the maps on my first character though, so not as dedicated as some of you guys ;-)
I’ve managed to get four of them in full exo gear so far. I’m leaving the last two, my mesmer and ele, until we know how the AoE nerf will affect the builds. I guess once they’re all levelled up I’ll start running some of the others through map completion while working slowly on a legendary and getting some laurels for ascended gear on my mains.
The Path Least Travelled, Gunnar’s Hold
I’m currently at 4/8, but I’m stretching it out.
Currently, I have Warrior, Ranger, Mesmer & Engineer there, with Thief hot on their heals at 59. I have an Elementalist at 30, but my Guardian and Necromancer are both under 10.
It’s also far too easy to get frustrated with the play-style of some classes and fall back on what you know.
Warrior & Ranger are my mains, with Mesmer second in command. And they’re so fun, it’s often easier just to log and play them. I also prefer playing the game at 80 knowing that I’m at maximum level with the best equipment I can get (although ArenaNet are doing their best to annihilate that simple enjoyment).
Playing at cap allows you to viably design builds and playstyles; to experiment knowing your limits
I am really disappointed with implementation of vertical progression and feel it punishes those of us who like to make at least one of every profession. Vertical progression is designed around the assumption that people spend all of their time playing one character.
Therefore I may take some time replying to you.
Im the opposite, doing so many alts just shows that you dont have content to complete with one. Actual and real content! Dunno why you would do so many alts anyway, waste of time.

I don’t know why you play games. It’s a waste of time…
I like alts, because there are different paths in the story. And each character plays different (I’m not really a roleplayer, but I do like to give my characters a backstory and a personality).
My goal is all classes lvl 80 with 100% world complete. Between these classes I have every race covered too and oh yeah I will also have every craft skill to 400 between them.
So far I am at 3 chars with 100% and am about 70% of the way through my forth. It’s not hard just takes time. So good luck with all yall goals!

And yet none of these screenshots have the legendary medal. So apparently they all have plenty of content to explore. It’s a personal goal … it shows some people care about different things than you in a game.
I suggest the title: dual-class
Delayed content is eventually good. Rushed content is eternally bad. ~ Shigeru Miyamoto
Yeah would like to eventually but stopped playing for the past 2 months so only got a guardian at 80, ele at 40, the rest below 10.
I’m halfway there. Taking my time with it so they are all geared up with exos and have the appeance I want. Not got 100% world completion on any characters so I will have places to go that are new to me when levelling up the other 4 to come. If I rush it i’ll just burn out and stop playing but I’m impressed others have gotten there so quickly. Good work!
That was one of my goals too. Oddly enough, my only two 80s so far are both Rangers. Not exactly the most effective way of accomplishing that particular goal. I just couldn’t stay interested in any other profession for long enough to cap them. I still play the other seven intermittently. They’ll probably all hit 80 within a week of each other, sometime in 2014.
It is not a goal, per se, for me. It is something that will happen on its own, because I want to experience all the professions from start to end.
One thing hindering my progress is the cost of character slots in gold. However, even that is something I find fun. My characters collect money in order to ‘recruit’ a new member for the team. They have currently managed to add one person to the roster.
Right now I have the three at lvl 80 and the other three around lvl 54-55. The last two characters may prove a challenge though, as I left the least interesting professions last. For me those are Thief and Warrior. I do have some background ideas for them already though.
