Why should I every single minute return to Divinity Reach for just some conversation?

The whole story is nonstop jumping Divinity Reach/somewhere and I already feel that simply buying that Grand Master trait for 3 gold would be cheaper than spending tons of money on teleporting here and there

Also, is it any way to jump directly to story marker on map instead of searching the whole map looking for this green star symbol every time?

You don’t have to spend any money to travel to Divinity’s Reach, or any major city, actually. Just travel through the Mists to LA and take a Asura Portal.

You can travel to the nearest waypoint for PS instances, if you have it open. But, it takes little time to travel on foot, usually. It is not difficult to see where the markers are on the World Map. I’m not sure ‘searching’ is the right term.

Anyway…good luck.

The personal story is optional. You don’t have to play it. For those of us who enjoy the personal story it definitely does not feel like a “waste of money”.

Regarding the markers: Personally, it never took me more than 5 seconds to find the green star. Just zoom out of the map and you’ll find it immediately. Sorry, but I can’t even take this complaint seriously…

It may be worth remembering that the story is now permanent – once you’ve got it unlocked you can complete it at any time.

This means if you wanted to you could avoid doing it until you happen to be in that city for something else, then do it while you’re there, even if that doesn’t happen for 6 weeks.

Or (more realistically) you could use the Heart of the Mists to go to Lion’s Arch and then to the nearest city and walk from there. Or even walk the entire way. You don’t need to rush so there’s no harm in doing it the ‘slow’ way.

For me it would be more immersion breaking and therefore annoying if the entire story happened in one area. If Rytlock just ‘happened’ to be in Dry Top when we need to speak to him and all the items we need were right there too. I’d actually prefer that we have to go to the right location to complete the story steps.

(And for what it’s worth I did it without using waypoints. I used asura gates to go to the nearest city and then ran from there. It took me a couple of hours in total, including time to do the story and time spent afk, chatting to my guild, etc.)

I should read about it, because “travel through the Mist” doesn’t ring any bells with me.

I just hit 80 and decided to get easy Grand Master trait which is rewarded for some personal story mission lvl 63. And to have some fun with story events of course

By “travel through the mists”, it’s basically this: go to the Heart of the Mists (the PvP lobby), take a portal exiting the Mists to Lions Arch and find a portal to take you to Divinity’s Reach if you are not willing to use the waypoints directly

FOR SKYRIM!!!!!

Click the crossed swords icon at the top of the screen (it will say PvP when you hover over it).

The first time you have to run across a small courtyard, up some stairs and talk to an NPC, then across a second court yard and through a portal to LA. After that you will appear in the second court yard and can just run straight ahead through a portal to LA.

It’s a completely free way of getting there from anywhere in the world. And from there you can use the asura gates to reach any other city.

Yes it’s a waste but at the same time it’s so minimal compared to how much you should be getting from the LS…it really boils down to how quickly do you want to get it done.

I think some are confusing Living Story with Personal Story. If I’m not mistaken, the OP’s post is about the Personal Story.

Which costs nothing to do, but time. Unless, of course, he means the cost of the game. /shrug

Still totally optional. I am not sure if you can enter Dry Top with out but if you can both are just something you can do. Also his complain about costs is mainly due to the fact he isn’t quite leveled yet. They are not that high anymore.
