Sorry for my English. I hope that will be clear what I mean.
Often I do pvp becouse the people are at the same level. In this way all depends from you.
In wvw I can’t play different profession becouse I have a full set ascended only with the Elementalist and Necro. The difference from a full set ascended and exotic is too high. I really hate this new sistema of ascended armor, accessory, ecc… For not speak of this new traits sistema….
I would like play different profession, change armor often for try new build and be competitive at the same time, change traits as soon as I can… I have spent a lot of time for do a full set berseker and rabid ascended, hasn’t been fun and I didn’t enjoy. Now for example I would like use the ranger and be competitive what should I do? Again do a armor ascended, spend all my money for take all traits? Actually I take the build from metabattle and buy only that traits there are in the guide (I can’t buy all traits for every pg I create) and I do a full exotic set (without speak of sigil,rune, ecc). Really easy understund that in Wvw 1vs1 often I loose (this more or less never happen in pvp) and I can’t change build just for try a new one and have fun.
In short, I wish I had more freedom to customize and ability to be competitive without it ask me to spend a month of my time in game. I don’t have a solution but the game is become really boring.

I havent got a single ascended armor piece on any of my characters and can still compete with all professions. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you are pro. You are too strong and clever for loose and there isn’t any difference from ascended full set and exotic.

You have incredible luck that every player you meet in WvW has Ascended gear. What are the odds?!

the difference between ascended and exotic is minimal, it matters really only if you face someone of same skill and same class

just got and do actual arena, you can have any set you want there w/o any grinding really

That is not so much that you should only play ascended, my tip: Only craft the weapon, because you get 5% more dmg right away, run a few fractals and Guild missions and upgrade your trinkets and stuff, the armor is just too expensive to try something out.
I have 2 Chars ascended and the rest exotic lvl 80 armor. I have no porblems in WvW and PvE that I could blame on the equipment

Maybe i’m mistaking something but the difference is really high!

Thats the trinkets. No one deny that ascended trinkets are good to have (and fairly easy to get). Only compare armor and it goes from 315 to 329 power. Which is nothing.

you forgott to put the ruby jewels in the trinkets, so ascended gear just merges both stats.
then you get:
ascended: 1825 Power
exotic: 1749

kitten that 76 power is so OP must start to craft ascended on all my chars now only got jewelery on 1 and random rings from fractals on the others

8+% less damage from guards through infusions is a pretty big difference.
