May I ask what happened with Pile of Coarse sand material over the last 2 weeks?
I’m watching my TP history, and I sold like 500 of those items for 8 silver each 14-18 days ago. Now I can’t even sell for 5 silver.
Was there some update about that item, or it’s just one of those demand and supply thingies?

I’m guessing supply has gone up, and demand has gone down. As time goes on, there’ll be more and more Level 40+ Guilds, so once they finish, the guildies think “Thank the Six we don’t need those anymore. We can farm and sell the sand now!”

Wintersday over, no other festival events, people back to farm what they can.

Guessing fewer guilds needing it. Or did you think coarse sand would always be needed?

Looking at the charts it appears that supply has now exceeded demand by a wide margin. Go Dry Top/Silverwastes Farmers? Supply on the TP is now 3x the demand. So prices fall. Econ 101 teaching moment strikes again.

Why did you think that the price of 8s would be sustained long term? Like any new item required for a new mechanic or new shiny, the supply starts tiny and the “must have now” crowd is willing to pay a high premium. Over time, people figure out how to cash in on the demand and the demand is limited to those unwilling to the same costs.

Less demand, and the announcement of changes to scribing means they will be cheaper.

And I am so grateful it has come down. I need to make hundreds of mugs and coarse sandpaper…

It was 8 silver? Really? o_O
