I noticed the same thing with the trophy bag from the karmic converter given by the exotic hunter collection.
It’s an exotic, it even comes in an exo chest when it drops – like Destroyer Lodestones nowadays.

They are exactly the same as other lodestones. They just were never used much, and now that the undead dragon is dead I doubt they will see much use in the future either.
On a side note, did they fix the ley-line energy converter yet? or are you purchasing 100 map currency every day to use it?
They are so abundant in Orr and so useless that it should be renamed to pile of kitten essence. If you farm CS for an hour on your staff guardian you can easily earn upto 8-10 an hour from the mob drops until you hit DR.

Yes. really. Maybe you hadn’t noticed, but there is a Lodestone type material for each element and each dragon (known prior to HoT). Essence is the one for Zhaitan.
