This is a feature suggestion. I would like for the development team to add the ability to pin a character to the beginning of the character list on the character selection screen. This would be a Quality of Life improvement that I imagine would be very easy to implement, yet would have broad appeal.

Right now, the last character I played is the first one that shows up in the character selection list. I would prefer to be able to pin one character to the beginning of the list, and have the rest of my characters show up in the order most recently played. Honestly, I’m surprised this idea hasn’t already been considered and implemented. I look forward to seeing this change in a patch in the not-too-distant future.

basically like a “Main” slot huh? well not a terrible idea i suppose. though not very practical. if you play a character enough to want them at the beginning, theyre probably already at the beginning, and searching through your character list isnt that bad. i wouldnt mind a list for character select though. i like the portraits, but sometimes it IS hard to find the character im looking for(i have almost 30, and yes, i know more people have more)

There’s an official QoL suggestion thread stickied above. You might consider posting there, where the Devs are most likely to see your suggestion.

I would prefer to be able to put the whole list into a fixed order. Custom order would be best of course, but even alphabetical or order created would be better than what we have now. At least they would stay in the same place all the time.

If you play your main and then before you log off do some maintenance on other character, this isn’t going to be the case.

If people have a lot of characters like you, maybe being able to pin all of the “default” slots (the ones that show when you first login) would be good.

Hint from a developer elsewhere. Never say ‘I imagine this would be very easy to implement’ until you have seen the code. What users think is trivial is often next to impossible and what they think will be hard can be coded in less time than the discussion about if the change should be made.

That being said it would be an interesting suggestion. Right now ‘which character is your main’ is baffling to us altoholics but ‘which character do you have pinned first’ is much easier to answer. Actually, I would prefer they do multiple lines rather than scrolling.

I think it would be a nice quality of life feature if you can choose to pin 1 or many characters (in your own desired order) and then have the remaining characters sorted as they are now (last time you played them). I definetely support this idea.
