Hi .
I play necro and i use pizza 20%condi duration and cristal +100condipower/10%condi duration.
Now , pizza give you 100exper. and 70condipower…….. 100expert.=6% condi duration.
They have already kill the food 40% to 20% condi duration… a hard 50% nerf.
Now they pass 20% into 6% , so a 70% nerf….. NIIIIIIIIICCEEE perfect !!!!
And what about cristal ? it don’t give condi duration anymore !!! perfect !!!!!
You take insane time and money to craft your expensive stack of food/utility and anet break it .
Pizza get a nerf 40% to 6% condi duration , its a 85% nerf…… we keep only 15% of the original condi duration….
So what anet ? you don’t want we use food anymore ????

You don’t think the foods were the least bit overpowered?

Take a look at the power equivalent food, I think you will understand the change right away.

From the WvW standpoint there was that -20% condi duration reduction food to cancel it out. I hope that gets nerfed too along with the -10% damage reduction food.

The foods were originally balanced for the terribly underperforming vanilla Condi builds… the nerf to 20% duration happened after the Condi overhaul made Condibuilds functional in order to bring the duration more in line. Now they are completing the job by standardizing condi duration. The bonuses from expertise are equivalent to the values from power, ferocity, and precision.

By switching it to expertise it allows them to better balance condition builds with power builds as the amount of condi duration that was available was out of hand.

Additionally, they hinted at potentially increasing the base duration of some conditions in the future if it is deemed necessary. It’s possible that we might even see base durations standardized in the future.

Please stop assuming I’m a guy… I am female.

The patch notes make no mention of reducing the effects of -Condition Duration consumbables. A swift check in game confirms that these consumables have not been brought in line with the +Cond. Duration nerfs.

I guess if this is a fair change because it brings Condition food in line with Power food, the next step would be to either nerf the anti-Condition food as it is now far to powerful for a single foodbuff. That, or we buff the anti-Power foods to reduce Direct-Damage by 20%. Fair is fair, afterall.

Yeah that is indeed a bit weird. I never understood that food (or the plethora of runes) anyhow, because that’s such a high number. Then again, runes do still offer something like +40% duration to a specific condition.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Or they can change the food to reduce condition damage by 10%.

Id be ok with that.

Yea these foods should now be toned down as well. In my opinion food and utilities should always be supplemental to your build, not a fundamental part of it. Yet foods like this and the offensive foods/utilities before this patch were so ridiculously powerful that this was not the case. Overall this was an excellent change and will make the game better

You do realise they announced the change well in advance right?

Here is the original thread from 1 week ago where exactly this change was mentioned:

Yes, if you were unprepared and didn’t destock pre patch you might have some shortterm financial losses. Stomach it and move on.
