Yesterday CD Projekt RED implemented nVidia’s Ansel tech with phenomenal results to their game Witcher 3 (Article), enabling easy ultra resolution and 360° panoramic screenshots.

As GW2 tends to have spectacular vistas which could easily make great screenshots of the game, it would be a nice feature to add to the game.

I’d love to hear the developers’ opinion on that idea if possible.

Does Ansel require any underlying tech to work? Witcher 3 is a modern DX11 game and GW2 uses an utterly ancient DX9 engine.
But yes, it would be an amazing feature.

Considering how Anet never bother to make this game work on multi core CPUs, upgrade to new DirectX, optimize stuffs, 3 years until HoT for 64 bit client. No, don’t expect Ansel.

Considering how Anet never bother to make this game work on multi core CPUs, upgrade to new DirectX, optimize stuffs, 3 years until HoT for 64 bit client. No, don’t expect Ansel.

The game uses multiple cores, it requires two to even run, it just doesn’t scale to take advantage of all the them to their fullest.
