Hello,
after a couple of years back to the game. I noticed that there is a new expansion. Is the original game will still playable or I need to buy expansion to be able to play?

You can still play without the expansion.

You will miss out on a few things like some new stat combinations for equipment and masteries which give you extra abilities, but most of those are specific to the HoT maps so they don’t affect playing in the core game. I think the main one I’d miss is gliding, it’s really fun and useful if you’re anything like me and find cliffs tend to sneak up on you as you’re running along.

But there’s nothing in the expansion which gives a major advantage over people who only have the base game, so you won’t be at a disadvantage if you don’t have it.

And if you do decide to get HoT at some point I strongly recommend shopping around. Even when it’s not on sale you can get it pretty cheap in some places.
