Player Armory / Herald type site
I was kind of hoping a feature like that would be implemented here on the forums, actually. So then your profile picture here would be a mugshot of the character of your choice.
It kind of felt, with the darkened Sylvari portrait, that they were probably planning something like that before, but that it got put to the side for more pressing concerns.
It would also be cool if, in that system, you could demo all of the available armor, weapons, backpieces, and dyes in the game. Similar to the way the PvP locker works, but includes even the rarer gear. And it would also have an easier to work with dye system, such as organization by color, material or rarity. (Like the way it organizes your personal collection, but this would be for all dyes so that you would have the entire library of dyes available to you.)
The reason I suggest the dye system is because, as of now, it’s kind of a pain to preview dyes. And when you do, it does it as a blanket demo across the entire character instead of in specific ways individually for each piece. So this would take care of that.
Great input, Tai, I like your ideas.
I work, a lot and usually long hours, so during my lunch break I love to ‘plan’ for the little time to play when I get home and to see what is happening in the game while I am here.
There was “talk” from players at least a year ago both pro and con regarding a WoW-style armory and DAoC’s Herald.
You can find previous posts here:
I’ll just stick with my original post from back then regarding the Armory. And agree that WvW rankings need to remain server based, not report individuals, (especially in light of the fact that many players have multiple alts they take to WvW, unlike DAoC, where doing so was prohibitive, just because of the difficultly leveling there.)
