Let me start off by saying I absolutely love this game, and at the start I loved the community. People were talkative, polite, and most of all not completely rude. I still love the game, the gameplay is great, however I’ve noticed an increase in people that have bad attitudes.

This happened yesterday, I was doing an event in Malchor’s Leap and some guy went down, I made my way over to him only to be attacked by two or three undead and the guy just sits though shouting “REZ” “REZ MEEE” and the like. He acted offended that instead of reviving him instantly I was fighting off the undead he couldn’t finish off, the undead that would have killed me too.

That’s just one example, I’ve had other instances of poor attitudes in this game, but anyway… I’m all for helping people, whenever I see someone that’s downed I’ll gladly go give them a hand unless they hit the return to waypoint button before I can get there. I just kind of baffles me that we already have people behaving like this, I know it’s the minority but it still rubs me the wrong way.

Just wanted to get that off my chest, if anyone else has stories similar feel free to share.

Maybe he is a new 80 or what not, and didn’t comprehend what happened. Maybe he was just goofing around. You yourself display in what I quoted, that you were assuming what his state of mind at the time was.

But as was already stated. Those types are every where.

Poor craftsman blame their tools. Poor players blame their Engineer.

You’re right man and you’re not alone in this.People are acting stupid everywhere, its nothing new.The more time passes the more of them you’ll see.Boredom..

Had a guy just last night on Heart of the Mists.
I was testing out some runes on my armour so I made the NPC’s atack me and see the results .Some guy shows up and waves at me and starts loughing .Had him next to me several minutes mocking me like I’m that weak an NPC kills me:)You have to understand that I wasn’t even fighting back.I mean how stupid you have to be.. is this guy for real?

Now everytime you go try look for a group and do some dungeons you’ll encounter some kitten picking on newbs because they didn’t know some mechanics since they never done it before calling them Morons and Stupid and in the end fail because of them instead.oh gawd.
Yes that happen last night too.Its an epidemic.

Thankfully, the rude players in this game is only a minority.
I experienced a couple of rude ones but they’re endurable.

I always give a “thx” to players who ress’ed me.
It’s because I know it feels nice to have players thanking me when I ress’ed them.

Yeah hopefully they get bored and quit, it’s a game so I don’t get why people take it so seriously. I’d rather have fun than be angry that someone isn’t ressing me or make fun of someone that’s testing things out. Some people just make me want to facepalm.

Over the years, computers have become a veritable commodity and thusly MMOs have become mainstream entertainment, therefore, communities overall deteriorate. This is a problem in every MMO now. Even the old classics.

It used to be that computers required some measure of intelligence just to run a game, or get on the net. This inherent requirement was a natural mechanism for filtering out the silly people.

MMOs aren’t a niche anymore, and the people that play them, not quite as enchanting.

Regardless of the treatment I get ingame, I always help with mobs, I do not aggro train (run past hostiles and then trail them on to someone else), etc etc.. All games come with a batch of bad apples, but I won’t let them ruin the experience. Most of them WANT you to react to them. Don’t entertain them and you’ll be fine… just don’t go sour cause of these people. You’ll only make the problem even worse.
