I recently saw a video in which every player had a green health bar displayed above them.

What add on would this be? Searches have revealed nothing mentioning this feature in any add on. While several GW2 addons may be found via searching, not one has mentioned this feature.

This one thing would be, to me, so useful when playing a heal/support character. Now, I have been playing this game since it launched without such a thing, but it is perhaps the one thing I really miss.

Isn’t that just part of the Squad UI? Meaning it will appear any time you’re in a squad with people.

This is different; actual HP bars hovering over players. Not just side bar portraits of party members.

I may be onto a lead, having found some photos on the web and following them to their source. Hopefully the actual pages will have some info as to how these HP bars are displayed over all players.

Be careful. It might be an ok API overlay addon, or it might be an unpermitted game changer addon. If the latter, you can be banned for using it.

I agree that seeing the green bars all the time as an option would be super handy. Not handy enough to be worth losing my account over, though!

We find out more about the expansion tomorrow. I doubt it’ll get down into QoL things like health bars – probably it won’t even give us as much juicy detail as HoT’s announcement did given the new don’t-tell-too-soon philosophy – but there will be many eagle eyes looking through all the provided footage (or listening to the comments) to tease out a lot of detail.

If you are referring to Brazil’s video, the mod he uses isn’t publicly available.

I think the BDGM addon may enable this feature in some fashion.

I am very wary of TOS violations; BDGM seems to be OK from what I have read. Though still I am not certain that it actually displays a health bar above players.

Only if running the Chinese client as it was designed specifically for that and is against TOS. The floating HP bars get their data from outside of combat data which is why they’re against the TOS.
