Generally each player has a player instance, but it is the same generic instance for each race, only difference is if you got the harvesting nodes via gemstore or special events/achievements.

No, you shall remain a hobo in your home instance. Your character clearly doesn’t rate better than living on the streets.

Not sure if this post is in the right area but I’ve searched for home and housing and no one else seems to have brought it up.

Everyone, their Grandmother, and all the pets in their Zaishen Menagerie have already bought this up. Players have been doing so since 1900, during the end of Queen Victoria’s reign, when her subjects would bow before her screaming “Player housing now!”. This was right after the great “Omg Mounts” revolt of 1895.

For what it’s worth, for the love of Dwayna, please no player housing. What’s the obsession? I just don’t get it.

What’s not to get about home ownership? It makes for a great investment.

Seriously, though, some people would like a place to make their own, something that’s affected by their work and achievements. It’s a personal investment that can keep them playing the game, and it can be an extra boost for the game as well.

Otherwise, the “Commander of the Pact and mighty vanquisher of Zhaitan” is little more than a roving, narcoleptic murderhobo.

Player Housing… Why?

i want my own castle with lil garden, cave, cellars, bedrooms, dragons, kitchen… should have wider access to professions by default. nobody tell me now about gem store you think i dont know it? and besides, this game STILL needs … whatever, im not alright. sigh, this is that woman’s fault who calls herself my mother. how ridiculous.

Who knows what the upcoming Guild Halls will bring? Perhaps, you will find something that fits your desires there.

I would love for my player (the commander of the pact) to have a real home instance with something more than candy corn and gifts for me to steal from the orphans. I know the devs are always swamped with “better” things to do, but this is one of the things I have on my “wishlist”.

We’re already going to get guild halls in HoT. I don’t know what others are doing, but I can tell you there’s a LOT of planning ongoing for my guild’s magnificent new hall, and I haven’t heard anyone in my guild screaming or pleading for new individual housing.

And yet, this is actually one of the other good reasons why we can use personal housing.

Right now, we don’t know what’s coming with Guild Halls, so all we can do is try to stockpile what might be required and hope. When they actually DO come out, though, someone’s going to have to decide how to spend what resources we have. Eventually, some in any guild will want Option A, while others want Option B. Someone’s going to lose and not get what they want.

Also, you don’t want everyone making changes to your hall. So a few members of the guild will be allowed to make changes, and the rest can only watch. Beyond supplying the guild with resources, the system will be off limits for them.

Now, you can say they can just make their own guild if they really want to play with Guild Halls, but is that really the answer you want? You can only rep one guild at a time, if they’re working on their own hall, they’re not working on the one for the big guild. Personal housing, however, could be set up so that you can earn towards it while also earning towards a Guild Hall. They get to work with a personal version of the system and make their own choices there, while still helping to build the hall everyone in the guild wants. It’s the win/win answer for people in guilds.

I’ve often gone into Salma district in DR and poked around the places within, wishing that just one of them would be my home. ...Especially since my characters parents are dead, it would be fitting for her to be able to go home and have a place where she has some sort of anchoring to her past still.

The different things you can add to your home instance are neat, and I have a few, but an actual home would be a nice place to have trophies and awards. Like a gold star on the mantle for world completion, or some scale or such representing some dragon kill.
