Player owned cities?

Hello all,

I am a new player coming back to the game from launch when I tried it out and quit. I wanted to know if cities were “ownable” so to speak like they were in GW1 by guilds through various activities and grinds. Would love to find out as I venture back into GW for the long haul again!

No, we have no real factions in Guild Wars 2, other than Servers (now with match-ups) in WvW.

The closest this game has to that is the claiming of structures by guilds in WvW.
