In your humble opinion do you think it’s worth having a second character of the same class? For example I have a melee warrior but was contemplating creating another warrior but as ranged. Would the playing experience differ much? Especially if they’re a different race

It’s also for RP purposes too. My current warrior is an honourable norn. Fancy trying a gritty dishonest charr with a ruthless kitten attitude

Absolutely if you like the class.
My main is a Human Mesmer and I have a second Sylvari Mesmer at 41 now.
They use the same weapon set but my main is condition / staff focused and the Sylvari is G/S dps, they play very differently and having two characters rather than just respec makes them unique to me

I’d say it depends on what you want to do with them. If you just wanted to try out ranged combat I’d say re-spec, but if it’s for RP purposes and they’re going to be effectively different kinds of characters even though they’re the same profession then it’s worth it.

I’d also say it’s worth it if you wanted to regularly use two different builds because changing your traits all the time could be expensive.

In GW1 I have 4 rangers, all for different purposes.
