I keep seeing all these threads about people complaining about BL gem stuff not being delivered and 99% of the time its cause their mailbox is full… Seriously? as an OCD gamer I have a really hard time understanding how someone can get more than like 2 messages in their inbox without having deleted them. Where are all these messages coming from? And why are people not deleting them after reading it? Am I the only one who finds this to be unacceptable behavior? or is it like a situation with an 8 year old and a dirty room where you would just wish for them to be a neat and responsible person but just know in the end it’s way too much to expect at that point?

People are doing a bunch of hearts, leveling up and getting dungeon notifications, getting the LS mails, etc.

I don’t understand how they can’t delete them either. I would go crazy if I had old mail sitting in my box.

There’s no excuse for laziness.

Pretty sure some people save their mails as an extra form of storage. Also, some mails from friends or loved ones are special. As well as some of the event mails having information you may not want to delete immediately. Perhaps, having OCD makes saving mails more difficult for some. I am not sure. =)

really? You can only have 10 mail in your mailbox at a time – you get mail sent to you a fair bit. I like to keep any that involve the current LS just in case I need to check some details or use the “show me where” option, and some LS updates send you quite a few mails, like the Dragon Bash/Aetherblade investigation stuff. Sometimes this adds up. 10 is really a very small limit – sometimes it is nice to keep a conversation I had with someone for reference or whatever … it doesn’t mean that I have “housekeeping” issues.

I’ve been trying to keep mine over 10, hoping that some day the stupid hint-achievement would pop up.

You’re playing a game. Why should you have to make it a job by sorting through mail that you want to keep and mail that you want to delete? I get so much mail in like 10 minutes that I just don’t want to take the time to sort through it.

My question is why do you care how other people keep their mailbox? It’s their game, their characters, their mailbox. Good grief, I hope you never have a look at my bank.

ANet said in the past that they’re increasing crafting to 500 and that the way you’ll get mats is by breaking down level 80 gear. I have 4 guild banks on 2 accounts filled with yellows and I had over 50 mails of blues and greens before the last patch deleted them all. I probably have about 100 mails of blues and greens between accounts now.

I hope they don’t delete the mails again…

You’re screwed ’cause they probably will..

All they need to do is implement is a visual flag to indicate when the mailbox is full. Problem solved.

I find it really stupid that those living story mails take up inbox space. :/

for the first month or so of playing, I didn’t throw anything away. it took me a week just to sell junk to merchants. “is this an important mail that I’ll need to reference later?”. I can totally see how a new person would accumulate mail, yet now my mailbox is always empty.
