Plea: Pause new content
I would not mind this at all either. I can wait. How much an long do you all (Arena Net) test these things before it is released? I can’t see how a bug at the very start of the content that halts any progress can get passed a testing team. At the very least give the time wasted because of the bug back to us. Haven’t been able to do anything all day today. Yes i could do the dungeon but I’m not ready for that just yet.
No doubt, cant even progress cause Noll won’t spawn. This is a great one time event arena net. Get your act together or I’m sure alot of us (myself included) may stop playing and stop spending money in your cash shop.
It’s time to put down the content idea book and start fixing the bugs. I just logged in here to make a post about this very thing – glad I don’t have to make another post about it.
We are done with the dungeons where we cannot complete them because they bug out, time and again.
We are done with trying to figure out new content, to only have MORE bugs introduced.
We are done with classes bugged so badly, it makes you want to delete every time you log in. I already play a very garbage class, and I have to deal with illusions and players in my way while I’m casting my fire, air, water or earth spells only to have them obstructed over half the fight.
This is no longer beta – please stop treating us as the guinea pigs for your testing. I bought a game to play on a production server, not a beta one.
I have to say, the way the weekend unfolded just reinforced my feelings on this one.
I love, love, love that you guys want to do monthly content pushes; my first MMO love, Asheron’s Call, had a deep commitment to ongoing expansion of content that keeps it endeared to me to this day.
But you’ve got to get your quality house in order, first, WRT the existing content and systems. Then you really need to scale whatever quality process you have to properly testing the monthly content, cause that’s clearly not working now. I hope you are building some client traffic test harnesses because many of the bugs in the weekend event (several of which, all software orgs I’ve worked on would have triaged as “release blockers”) would’ve been obvious if so.
But i have to say that i prefer to skip the Christmas event and have the GW2 they promise us. Maybe pause the new contents, no… but a little stop on events maybe yes.

I enjoy the new content, new dungeon and new events but wow this patch really broke a lot of the existing stuff.
Off the top of my head, right now Arah Path 1, CoE Path 1, and (one of?) the HotW paths all have progression-blocking bugs in them.
It wouldn’t even have to be a pause in all new content, really. Just revisit, revamp, and add new events and such to zones throughout the game so that the entire player base isn’t concentrated in less than 10% of the game’s space.
Overhaul downscaling, so that A) Higher leveled characters don’t bulldoze everything below their level in their sleep, and Rewards aren’t reduced in lower-leveled areas (I know that a step toward that latter point was part of this last patch, but I’d still advocate being more aggressive with it).
Guild Wars 2 does not suffer from a lack of “things to do”. It suffers from a lack of “things that feel worthwhile to do”. And since the only thing that’s ever going to feel worthwhile to do is whatever is the most effective, everything needs to be “the most effective”. I think at this point there’s a lot more return to be gained from revisiting, rebalancing, fixing, and adding supplementary content to old areas than in creating entirely new areas, but leaving old content largely as-is.
I agree strongly with this topic. When playing the final event:
- Myself and an horde of other players were killed by enemies we didn’t even see, due to the culling issue (which is the same one plaguing WvW).
- My bow attacks against all structures kept giving me the “Obstructed” message despite how there wasn’t anything between us; the same happened when attacking some enemies. This is an old and known bug which has still not been fixed.
- I was disconnected due to the “Incorrect password” bug, kicking me from the overflow I was in and preventing me from finishing the event.
- The party join system is still a mess. Using the party interface (at the top left of the screen) more often than not gave me a “This player does not exist” message.
There are hundreds of bugs in this game, and new patches continue to introduce more than they fix. I would rather see some major fixes than new content that not only has the same old bugs, but also introduces new ones.
