Please Add 3 More Servers
You’re not going to find a lot of support for this idea.
Well you’ll never have to worry about queing to get into the game. When it says full that accounts for the number of accounts that call that server home, not the number of players logged in.
They have raised the number of people on each server before. That could happen again.
It is interesting to see this request as we usually get the opposite ones.
There is never queuing to get into the game. Even if all the servers are rated as full, there wouldn’t be.
Superior game/engine design, FTW!
ANet may give it to you.

If you get servers on T2 you lack of players, I can’t even imagine what is WvW life on lower tiers, please REMOVE servers.
We don’t need new servers.
We don’t need players only ever aiming to get in the top 3 servers.
What we do need are players willing to join all the remaining servers.
…..sadly I don’t see that happening.
This sounds like the OP hasn’t been playing the game very long.
Mmo players with a screw loose vs mmo players with two screws loose. All very important stuff.

ANet needs to make it clear to new players that server choice has very little impact, except for WvW. I still see people who ask how to get into TC/JQ/BG so they can do various types of PvE content with friends. People who have no interest in WvW still get worried when they can’t get into a particular server.
Further, ANet ought to add powerful incentives for moving to low-pop servers, just as they do for people ‘volunteering’ to move out of an instance after the end of World Boss events. For example:
- 0 gem fee to transfer to the 3 lowest-pop worlds.
- A one-week buff increasing MF by 25% and PvE movement speed by 15% (same as the speed booster), for those who move to a lower population server (maybe one month, if that server is in the bottom 3).
- Perhaps some sort of special mini or other gem shop-like reward.

After reading the WoW forums where they might have hours of waiting in a queue during busy times, I can see his concern. We are lucky to have a game that doesn’t have log on queues or has hours of downtime maintenance every week.

Oh yea, definitely agree with that…..especially the downtime maintenance part.
I just don’t think the OP realizes just how many servers need more people. The top 2 tiers are not representative of the state of the remainder of the servers. Adding more servers would just make the underpopulation problems in wvw for the lower tier servers even worse. Of course, I am speaking from an NA server point of view.
Plus, with the whole megaserver concept, and putting players into ‘overflows’ when the in game pop gets high, the possibility of que times to get into the game is pretty much a non factor. The OP doesn’t sound like he/she even knows about the megaserver system that is in place for GW2.

Simply put the population on all the servers is either “Very High” or Full. Pretty soon we won’t be queing for BLs but queing to get in game lol.
Add 3 servers problems solved.
Staying in an ultra populated server it’ s your decision…
Enjoy the 1 hour queu. You deserve it
Suggestion : change server and move to a less populated one.

Transfer fees in general shouldn’t be population based. It should be WvW tier based. Free to move to the lowest three servers in WvW. Expensive to transfer to a Tier 1 server. Gradual reduction in gem cost as you go down in tiers.
No boosts or gifts for transfering as that will just cause a lot of server hopping as people hop around to get the boosts and gifts multiple times.

For the record I did.
There is no Ultra populated There is “Very High” and “Full”
Out of the 20 servers, 5 are Full…the rest are Very high, up until a month ago a few others were flashing full, mighta been a bug since I’ve never seen Ebay Full.
I also didn’t know they could raise the caps, well I hope they do something before HoT.

Bleep No!!! that would ruin WvW even more. How about you all come to servers that need population like Crystal Desert for example…

I like your ideas on incentives. Though I would hesitate on anything material, like your third example, as it may have consequences.

Actually, they not only can raise the caps, but also lower them – and do it individually, per server. That’s why most of the servers are showing “Very High”. Not because there are lot of people on them.
Remember, remember, 15th of November

Thats interesting, I did not know they do that.

It’s more likely because they had the 2 separate $10 account sales that brought in a lot of new people. Regardless of whether or not they stick around, their accounts are counted towards the population of the server they select.
As a side note, after each sale the time requested for support to finish a ticket went from 3 days to 7 days as they were having so many people making tickets that support was swamped. Either there was a large influx of new accounts and people making tickets or something else happened simultaneously after each sale.

Thanks. And fair point about ‘material’ rewards. I mostly just want to get people thinking creatively about encouraging people to transfer to balance server pop, as opposed to adding servers, merging servers, or raising caps. I don’t like the last three because they have a lot of negative consequences and worse, they don’t actually address the root cause, which is that people still think it matters which server you’re on for PvE.
